Expected to be on the bench for NSWMitch Barnett did get a record in the VB Hard Earned Index though - 142 points (however that is calculated) - which is no surprise to us fans after yesterday's performance!

Don't despair Maka; we have two byes coming and plenty of football ahead. It's why I find people saying we shouldn't criticise the halves on one performance really weird.
There is only ever one performance, the last one.
We completely dominated the Dogs and should have won.
In all honesty it's been a pretty fucked season. Many of us (myself included) are saying finals are still a chance.
We're bottom 4 with a negative PD!
Keep in mind that our back three left the field. And Capewell and Halasima played well out of position. Who actually were our wingers at full time? For sure. But I’m not looking for excuses. I’m looking for accountability. And a huge part of our lost came from 1. Ref 2.CHT. 3.TMM
RTS wasn’t that great. Neither was Pompey. The backs let the forwards down yesterday.
When CHT makes good he’ll get the flowers. When he’s makes mistakes he gets the strap.

Pretty sure Pompey ended up left wing. Not sure who was on the right? Seems ridiculous that it’s not the exact set of circumstances that the 18th man can be activated and carrying Tuaupiki becomes a great decision. Could have been a hint that CNK was struggling?Keep in mind that our back three left the field. And Capewell and Halasima played well out of position. Who actually were our wingers at full time?

Being injured isn't really failing but I get your pointYeap
Which proves my point

I think Capewell was the other winger. So I'm just trying to remember our backline for critical analysis purposesPretty sure Pompey ended up left wing. Not sure who was on the right? How many reps do you think we did in training with those combinations? Huge effort to keep the bulldogs to 13 points and even then they were an intercept and a kickFor the remaining however much time I can't remember it was -
Left - Capewell wing/Walker centre
Right - Pompey wing/Leka centre
That's my memory from yesterday anyway, we scrambled well.
Regarding CHT. It all remains to be seen if he develops the killer instinct or not. But to quote a bloke who misses a lot. Michael Jordan said something like he missed a million more shots than he made. Can't remember the rest but he became clutch as we'd like all our playermakers to be.SJ started to be a gun when he fooled the Storm defenders at the clutch in the GF qualifier in his first year, then scored a famous golden point try in his 5/6th year vs Sharks, 2 droppies at the death to beat the Raiders in his 8th year, on his 10th year his last minute droppie beat the Panthers with the Sharks, his 11th year he beat the Cows and Raiders in golden point, 12th year beat the Raiders again in golden point and sealed the game with a droppie vs Manly in the same year
CHT missed droppies from the front in his 3rd to 4th year, took a break came back in his 6th year since debut and missed 2 easy droppies after a wild no look pass to the cameraman earlier
CHT seems to have the South African gene, the cricket one, might get a DNA test to see if he’s related to Nico Hynes, both look handsome and the poets type
Edit: to be fair I’ve seen a few goal kickers miss at the death in my time, and all the ones I remember nail them at the deaths in future opportunities, Jordie Barrett, Ihaia West etc, not drop goals but maybe CHT can get scarred and be more composed and turn it around next time, like just stab it higher man

we would have rolled them in the 2nd half if the big man upstairs didn't decide to fuck with us by removing our entire backline. Dogs had nothing in attack and were getting dominated by us in the middle.Which really just strengthens the arguement they were there to be beaten lol.

No, what I'm saying is that there is no time in the training week and the recovery required during the playing season, to fully fatigue the team so that they can emulate the golden point field goal scenario. What you’re alluding to is clutch moments. As full time professionals halves, if kicking is difficult for them, then they need to double down on practicing. Not practicing no look passes to no one..
How quickly we praise one week and then condemn the next. Don't forget we were playing against the best defensive side of the year (and probably the most cheating)Yeap
Which proves my point
