Not with that attitude, Wrighty!

Can you please clarify something, Wrighty? Did SJ become a golden point gun before or after he became an 'experienced elite player'? Was he born that way? Or did he become elite over..... years of preparation?

Love ya posts, mate 😄

Mate that was welll before his time. He only started following league a few years ago 😂
Or so he says!

Potentially, but at the same time I could see how a few of the boys could have been frustrated to tears too...

I just checked and every single forward made over 100m, Barney and Addin over 200m. To lose that the way we did and knowing that the season is very, very close to being over must be a bit shit...

It's why I find people saying we shouldn't criticise the halves on one performance really weird.

There is only ever one performance, the last one.

We completely dominated the Dogs and should have won.

In all honesty it's been a pretty fucked season. Many of us (myself included) are saying finals are still a chance.

We're bottom 4 with a negative PD!

He doesn’t have clutch genes
He has choke genes
He could write a whole book about it ✍️
I remember watching this guy called Billy Slater representing Australia against the Kiwis in an important time which might be called clutch. He took a ball and when about to run out, rather than do that he threw what could be considered a choke pass that went to ground for a bloke named Benji to pick it up and score. Billy went on to be an ok player.

Sorry if that's irrelevant. But I had a go. Basically I'm using the keep at it son you'll be right approach.

Apart from the bunnies and the broncos (who put up some fight) have we had any easy games this year? Feels like every fucking teams been coming after with venom.

For sure. But I’m not looking for excuses. I’m looking for accountability. And a huge part of our lost came from 1. Ref 2.CHT. 3.TMM

RTS wasn’t that great. Neither was Pompey. The backs let the forwards down yesterday.

When CHT makes good he’ll get the flowers. When he’s makes mistakes he gets the strap.

I do agree. And with all these great points we lost another winnable game

It’s been a very even season and we’ve had some awful luck. If Xavier Coates doesn’t do us in the storm game and we had justice in the dogs game, we’d be pushing for top 4. We’ve also had games like the manly draw where their tries were from kicks and against run of play and ours were breaking the line. We’ve been the better side in losing games quite often this season. Sometimes you flip a coin 10 times and its tails every time.
So I really think despite our position we can still fight for finals

There’s been 5 games that we’ve lost by 6 or less. We would be sitting pretty in second place if those results went our way. It’s a case of shoulda coulda woulda unfortunately.

Those games stacking up in a pattern lead me to think this is just that kinda year for us, learn the tough lessons and remember the tears, apply the learnings and hopefully next year we’ll be winning these close games from R1 and be sitting where the Storm are

Would be good to sneak into the playoffs this year to give the juniors a taste though

SJ started to be a gun when he fooled the Storm defenders at the clutch in the GF qualifier in his first year, then scored a famous golden point try in his 5/6th year vs Sharks, 2 droppies at the death to beat the Raiders in his 8th year, on his 10th year his last minute droppie beat the Panthers with the Sharks, his 11th year he beat the Cows and Raiders in golden point, 12th year beat the Raiders again in golden point and sealed the game with a droppie vs Manly in the same year

CHT missed droppies from the front in his 3rd to 4th year, took a break came back in his 6th year since debut and missed 2 easy droppies after a wild no look pass to the cameraman earlier

CHT seems to have the South African gene, the cricket one, might get a DNA test to see if he’s related to Nico Hynes, both look handsome and the poets type

Edit: to be fair I’ve seen a few goal kickers miss at the death in my time, and all the ones I remember nail them at the deaths in future opportunities, Jordie Barrett, Ihaia West etc, not drop goals but maybe CHT can get scarred and be more composed and turn it around next time, like just stab it higher man

Jaeman Salmon faces a two-to-three match ban for a tackle on Warriors halfback Te Maire Martin that left the Bulldogs forward with a suspected broken jaw on Saturday.

Salmon was charged with Grade 2 Dangerous Contact for the incident which occurred late in regular during Canterbury's 13-12 Golden Point win at Accor Stadium.

Just saw that Salmon is getting a three week ban for his late hit on TMM but it was all cleared on field and didn’t deserve a penalty?
How embarrassing. Kasey to be demoted?
