The one that Mahoney touched to make it go left? What about tmm not even getting one off in regular time? A lot of chances at the end of the day could of had any of them including a blatant late high shot
I didn't realize that Mahoney was so quick from a standing start square with the the play the ball.

Thought the forwards played very well, DWZ, Montoya, Pompey, RTS all played hard.

Halves were woeful, should we give TMM the 700k upgrade now :ROFLMAO:

As for CHT, if you have been talking him up on here while dogging SJ give yourself an uppercut, he has a place in the team but it isn't starting and it definitely isn't in the halves.
Who would you start in CHT's place to get best value? With injuries being as they are?

Couple of things after the replay

Montoya's fend for his try was beautiful to watch

Thought Capewah showed us his class with the 1 percenters. Mr Clean Up

Halasima has a huge future if his development continues successfully

Our halves long kicking game is crap but hopefully is being worked on

CHT's 2nd droppie, no deflection, we win

Pomps missed conversions go over, we win

Altho I think the TMM would be a soft penalty to win on, the real question and kinda annoying part is last week dogs vs sharks there was no hesitation calling a late tackle on the dogs player, when they were clearly tackled legally during the kick.

Like its more just frustration that for us the penalty wont be blown the last few minutes but im sure if It was against us they probably would
Just re watched the game and the dogs players were all over TMM after his kicks. Could count at least 3 instances where he was taken out late. Credit to him for not flopping though. Would rather he didn’t gain a reputation for his theatrics.

Last week TMM and CHT were the future of the club and the second coming of Jesus; now they’ll never ever be a good enough pairing. The fickle fan base will never cease to amaze me.

Halasima’s mum said to play with honour and have fun - she should be so proud.

Boys left it all on the field, the bye is well needed, the seasons not over yet and that the type of hearty performance we can build upon - fantastic line D, showing up for one another, desperation. Love it.
SJ was our past and is our present but not our future.

CHT and TMM are who we have plus signings and juniors. So they are technically the future.

I get it.

My comment was a tad tongue and cheek. The ultimate solution to this is to get ourself into a position where it doesn't matter at all though.
Absolutely, like I dont want for it to come down to one call, if it came down to that the real solution is we should have been better during the game.

The ref can always make a bad call or miss one but we shouldn’t be relying on those to go our way at all

I can remember abiut 3 games this season where I thought we’ve been shit and deserved to lose. Every other game I though we were the more pysicall and more
Dominant team and still lost. Stats back this up. We are too 4 in every catagory. Our half’s shuffling has been so fucking determinatal.

Season over I think but a lot to take away and hopefully Webby pulls some strings next season. We need more X factor and speed. . To think Leka may have only got 5 mins if it wasn’t for the injuries. For the rest of the season I wanna see all our young guns bleed in
Not all is done and dusted but we must win all our remaining games and hope some results go our way.

Watching it I kinda felt the same way initially, but then I think what would it achieve really? Wouldn’t change the result. Wouldn’t change the reffing we get next week.

I just think he’s apathetic to it as he doesn’t want to give it energy which I’m slowly coming around to as well
Sometimes it's best not to criticise the refereeing (ala Ricky Stuart) and be regarded as a whinger. ie stay onside with the referees and Graham Aynesley and you get a more sympathetic approach in future.

Havent read the comments and I know it would have been bought up 100 times in the thread already so sorry in advance for doing so again, I need to vent.

I hate the fact that i'm one of those salty that the Salmon/TMM debacle was not called a penalty.

Not wanting to use it as an excuse because its not gauranteed we kick the penalty but atleast it gets called fot what it is. Though we should never have been in that position and should have iced our own oppurtunities.

I'm salty asf because the NRL talk up there priority about player welfare and player safety yet they deemed that play "ok". Even on someone who hasn't had a brain bleed thats a cooked and dirty shot. How the fuck they refuse to call shit like this has me hating the game.

Such a fucking unbearable competition to watch and support, especially thinking "what the actual fuck" and "what if" all the time.

Just to offer a thought old chaps......

SJ at his best and fittest and in finest form is top tier elite. Evidence backs this up.
SJ otherwise is prone to poor form and poor performance. We also have evidence.

TMM and CHT when at their best and fittest and in finest form while great are no Shaun Johnson's.

But they are who we have. And last night they were shithouse. But they still are who we have.

SJ is also in his last year's which makes his recovery and fitness all the more important to get him to his best which he hasn't been regularly this season.

What to do with our current halves? Tuaupiki and Walker? Roache and Tuaupiki? Keep CHT and TMM?

What are your thoughts fine fellows?

It’s simple

Tuapiki and SJ haven proven they are clutch

Hynes , ChT have proven they have panic attacks in clutch moments

Tuapiki should have played yesterday. He would have seized the moment.

I’d be feeling a bit hard done by if I was TMM. Last year cops a broken leg when the nrl says they will be stamping down on hip drop tackles, now takes a late hit to the head when the nrl says it will be stamping down on contact to the head. And late. Understandable the ref might be in a wrong position to see it clearly, but you have the bunker who calls back Montoya into the previous set to penalise him for his contact?
