Can somebody break down the Montoya tackle please? Would love to know what was illegal about it. It looked chest on?

Feel so angry for the players and happens to all clubs but feels like we cop more than our share
One thing I was surprised to learn going to away games in Aus is that pretty much all fans of all teams feel they are picked on more than the other teams, most of them have some far flung reason as to why this is that they’re convinced is true. I try to remember that when we cop a few head scratchers, in many cases there’s no grand conspiracy it just happened to the team we support and being the NZ team there’s an easy excuse for fans, also being the only NZ team it gets a lot more focus in our own market compared to one where there’s multiple teams.
In saying all that there is also some inexcusable calls and it’s hard not to take it personally when it happens to your team, the way the refs ‘manage’ a game and choose when to and when not to enforce rules opens up a massive can of worms.
Was interesting watching Anneslies explanation video- the guy did not believe a word of what he was saying, I know you can’t re award competition points but apologies are worthless at the end of the day

I do wonder if it was the bunker not wanting us to win or more a case of them wanting the bulldogs to win?
I wrote in the last rounds general discussion after the dogs were handed that win over the sharks that they were nrl's flavor of the month and we could expect some dud calls coming up so I shouldn't be shocked really- it was predictable.
Gotta laugh at all the bulldogs fans on social media saying it happens to them all the time- they've been spoon-feed two wins in a row and guaranteed a spot in the finals.

Dogs given a playoff spot at our expense this year and Ponga given the Dally M over SJ last year

What a coincidental pattern

Yeah the Dogs are defo the media and NRL favs this year. I think they are upset they didn’t do better last year considering they have Jesus as their coach 🙄🙄 I hate ciraldo so much haha

I think at the time it was described as a body check, Montoya never made an attempt to wrap his arms around and make a tackle.

That performance last night was not good enough for FG.
Not just the kicking. This decision making in clutch moments was worse than Hynes.
There has to be consequences.
Back to NSWCup and put Tuapiki to #6.
Next man up.
Its been a few days and the loss still stings. The decision making still confounds except that with every set move that CHT could have called.......

Other than TMM, his whole backline had changed. So if Taine is going to be up to first grade again I'd love him to be at fullback

I think it's a reactionary shoulder charge where the impending collision forces Montoya to turn his chest away and hit him with his shoulder without enough arms wrapping.

NRL360 was funny last night. They had a bit on the game and how Burton has kicked them to a win two weeks in a row. A good excuse to talk about their improvement.

No discussion on how they were lucky with a call at the end that should have been penalised.

Or no discussion on how the Warriors competed with injuries.

Both of those points don't take away from the fact they have improved this year. They could have easily still discussed that.

If we flipped the result. Lets say that Martin hit had resulted in a penalty. We'd be discussing a controversial call instead of the call being controversial during the game and a brief period after the fact. If it was a penalty we'd likely have heard like how Rothfield complained about Lodge a few years back.

They are catering for their audience. But it is still worth discussing things a bit more well-rounded.
