It's becoming harder and harder to watch NRL games because of the officiating. It's like what's the point?
It's a shame that such a great sport is being ruined for everyone.
I gave up two years ago hoping for accurate calls. I just count it as a bonus when one goes in our favour.
Rugby union is worse with officiating if that makes you happy. At least in league you know what the penalty is for, while in union there is a penalty every third or fourth ruck. And no one knows why.
I do remember thinking though on Saturday this one is so clear cut surely they at least give us this one. But no they didn't.
I wonder if the Warriors have had the most apologies from Annesly that would be an interesting stat to calculate.

Correct Wrighty.
Since day one the odds of getting a fair go have been against us.
Just the way it goes.
That's Aussies for you.
😉

haven’t posted until now, my thoughts for what’s it’s worth….

CNK - clearly busted, should not have played.
DWZ and Montoya both played pretty well.
RTS - looked a lot better
Pompey - can CHT please goal kick from the right???
Half’s - were due a bad night but the over reaction has been hilarious. Have we forgotten about how good they have been in the last few games. Yes, both were terrible on the 5th. CHT did kick for over 550m though and one of his field goals was in the money bar a grubby Reid finger tip. Unfortunately they were both off on the same night (didnt help with the dogs standing in our line all night)
They will be great again in the next game!!

Barny - the man!!!
AFB - very good
Egan - hmm can’t remember haha
Capwah - very good
Niukore - tuff again
Walker - good again

Leka - the man!!! Hopefully it’s not the last we see of him in first grade this year but wouldn’t surprise me.

Overall it was a bloody good game to watch.
It's performances and games like that, that make us proud to be fans.
Especially after a recent drubbing

100%. We have dominated teams this year and totally wasted that dominance. We must have the worst conversion rate in the league for attacking field position to tries.
I call it the red zone conversion rate.

Men and ladies of the forum it is going to be a long two weeks without the Warriors playing this weekend. All we are able to do is pick the bones of this loss.

I thought we lost this at the half time speech. They interviewed agar and he repeated what they had told the boys which was since we were having trouble converting in the red zone, stop passing it amongst ourselves and just use our forwards like battering rams and blast our way to tries straight through the teeth of their defence.
I think that was poor advice and I hope the coaching staff learn from it. In general though I usually like our half time speeches as they are actually a recalibration of our tactics in the second half. Where as old school coaches just swear and demand a better effort in the second half which never works as the players are already trying hard.

I also blame the coaches for the reshuffle. I think we lost this when Montoya and DWZ went off.
Our back line became

1 - RTS
2 - Pompey
3 - Leka
4 - Dylan I think
5 - Capewell

I think the back line should have been

1 RTS
2 Pompey
3 Capewell
4 Leka
5 Lussick

I mean Lussick ended up as a middle and we should have left Dylan there. Any one can fill in at wing so Lussick would have been fine there and probably had more gas than Capewell.

And in terms of picking the bones and ferreting around for something to say on the Monday after the loss that is the best I can muster.

Probably better not to post rather than force it. 😅😅😅

We lost because we didn't put Lussick on the wing? Oh my days.

I grew up in a union family. Rugby was like religion and I never missed a game.
Until about 25 years ago when I got so sick of all the rules and the interpretations by the refs. And with infringements being called that no one had any idea about. Not the players or the commentators or the fans.
Sound familiar?
So I stopped watching. And apart from a couple of world cup finals I haven't watched since.
I love the Warriors but the day is coming when I will switch off and find something else to follow.

Wow Bluecat this sounds similar to me.
I lost interest after a penalty involving the "A defender" being muscled out of the ruck and apparently you can do that to anyone in the opposition except the "A Defender" according to a detailed explanation from Justin Marshall.
I also couldn't stand how easy it was to get sent off with a red card and that was the end of the contest. Even if you had been looking forward to the match all day or in some cases all week.
Games on the weekend like with the Warriors make it hard to be a fan of league as well. I thought that penalty was so obvious that they had to give it to us even though we are the Warriors.
I have no faith in the bunker at all.
I don't let myself watch the footage closely when it goes to the bunker because I don't want the wind up to my blood pressure when i can clearly see it is a try or a strip and they call otherwise because they are high on cocaine while they are reffing.

The only solution I see is the pay the refs more. Apparently we have record profits. Lets make reffing a really attractive career so that we get some talented people in there. Something has to be done. Since Bennett stood up there seems to be a groundswell forming of frustration. Hang in there BlueCat. If you makes you smile. We have a winnable draw from here on in. Not an easy draw but winnable. If we can fluke it into the playoffs I think our team is as good as anybody else's including the Storm and that we would be a dark horse to win the premiership in 2024. This year.
When things get really bad I go into the match expecting to lose then I am not dissapointed.

Just doesn’t make sense that when clearing the hit for height, they wouldn’t see how late it was. They should be asking Adam Gee how he missed this and questioning his officiating in missing it

We play the raiders in round 20 after the bye.
I don't think they have a shit show against us. I am convinced the NRL mafia will give us make up calls all game long.
Good luck for the match Ricky !!! Look forward to your presser !!!
