I wondered a while back if Lussick would be a decent lock to make it more worthwhile carrying him on the bench being that hooker is the sole position he covers. Watching how he handled being in the middle in that game and his passing makes me think that lock could be a good position for him. He’s a hearty player, the way he bounced back to his feet after he was smashed was admirable

Another thing in that game that’s happening more and more is Egan wasting a play having a snipe from dummy half close. Think it’s become so predictable, even watching on the tv you know it’s coming. Haven’t thought Egan has hit the same heights as early in the season that saw him in origin contention

I was watching the game and thinking how tough Lussick was taking that hit and then bouncing up and carrying on like it was nothing. Kikau dishing it out big man on little man. Didn't look so tough with TMM up under the ribs little man on big man or rubbing his neck to milk penalties.

Think this is why Webster isn’t addressing the refs or their impact at all. Feel like he’s trying to take them completely out of the game in the minds of the players. We seem to adapt to rule changes in a timely fashion and play a fairly clean game within the rules generally conceding they got it wrong in high contact or wherever. RTS took his medicine without debate in a pathetic tipping tackle sin bin. It’s clear to see that resilience is returning that we had last year though not quite on the right side of some results. I think he needs a better balance of defending his players put in dangerous situations as TMM was the other night in calling out things like that though
When it comes to the safety of his players Webster should make it an issue. Doesn't matter if the game is on the line or not protecting his playing group should be his number one priority. ATM it feels like every other team has a free shot at injuring our players. NAS breaking Egan's teeth, TMM leg broken from a hip drop a weak gutted dog breaking his own jaw just to injury our players. That isn't even the full list. Just not fucken on at all.

Thought Kikau embarrassed himself playing for penalties for a massive guy. Stayed down for a crusher that looked very suspect. Not to say Warriors haven’t done it at times this season though

I get everyone got excited because it was a big hit but he wasn't trying to single out AFB or Barney was he.... fair game, but come on....

Aussies won’t give you respect you have to take it.

Unfortunately we haven’t come close to earning it let alone taking it.

We are definitely on the track path though - just avoid those 66-6 blowouts to bottom placed teams and even losing can be done with respect.

Yup definitely needs to go beast mode with player safety, like Tohu getting a swinging arm in the face and bunker said play on, think that was when Paris chipped in and the whole stadium of different teams' fans at Suncorp saw it

Our forwards totally outplayed them I thought. Just some adversity the difference. Even halves probably deserve some consideration that whole back 5 was altered so likely had some adversity they in particular were against with plays thrown out the window because of the players they’re set for are off the field. In particular DWZ. Ideally their game changes to suit the changes but likely easier said than done. Even CHT’s second dropped goal attempt looked to be on target apart from a Mahoney hand pushing it wide. Think this is a game where you take away far positives than negatives. Just a shame one of the negatives was the scoreboard

Sometimes I wonder if you put a whole team of Capewell’s in warriors jerseys what kind of calls would they get.

Choice of captain doesn’t matter, Ryan Hoffman would be beside himself when he had the gig, didn’t change anything.

Easy to understand the old loose carry calls, if you have a reputation for promoting the ball, you’ll get called out even if it’s a strip. Jackson Ford runs into the defender so often, you almost have to review it every time he’s a lead runner.

But, Bunker officials are the lowest of dogs, occasionally you get a Sutton trying to fix the game on the run, but for the most part its moving too fast for the man in the middle to act out any script he’s supposed to be following.

The bunker official intervening when and where they choose to is just straight influencing the outcome, who can say why? Gambling? Latent racism or nationalism? Fear of NRL HQ? Fear of home team/fan/local media backlash? Safe in the knowledge the warriors won’t do anything about it? Whereas Ricky will ring your boss and try and put a fatwa on you?

I think we would benefit from the squeaky wheel gets the oil public complaining, but that's really fine line to walk, you should only do it for game changing decisions - fortunately we have plenty of those to choose from.

Yes, every sport does. However, it is the same old thing week in and week out. Biased calls, Annesley blabbering on trying to justify it or apologize and then anticipation for the next game only to have a repeat of the cycle. The Warriors do not stand a chance in the Australian comp.. If it was fair or decisions were close calls, then I accept that, but there were at least three infringements in that play and the ref and bunker turned a blind eye to it. I t will continue to happen and I can`t watch that.
I'm with you brother. I'd watch all games in a weekend if the match ups were right. Wouldn't bother for 1v2 atm. NRL can gf. If they are going for entertainment why has Noone pulled out a chair or table mid match and put someone through it

Just watched the Andrew Webster press conference claimed to not have seen it, wouldn’t be drawn on it , fair play to him I guess. The only thing I’ll say is he saw it, everyone saw it, they have video in the box . Full credit to him for not calling it out, but given we see penalties awarded every week for ‘bitch’ slaps open handed contact with the face with no force whatsoever and this tackle went unpunished is just another blight in the inconsistency of the game and the app,i ation of the supposed rules. Cost a side two points.
Was a clear penalty on how they have reffed all year, That would of won the game for Warriors horrible decision

Good to see other clubs noticing it. This off a panthers forum

I can understand I suppose as the case is still under the judiciary.
can still answer why it wasn't picked up during the game yet cited afterwards?

That was what the bunker was there for. To pick up play if it was deemed enough to go on report. With the length of the break in play and previous calls on late and high tackles it looked a no brainer to everyone. For it then to be cited surely throws up at least one question that needs to be addressed.
