That’s why I think Annersley needs to go. The refs know they’ve got someone in him that’s going to do all they can to cover up their inept performances. I think even we fans try to make allowances for why this or that is called, or this and that isn’t. There should be no grey area with what RTS and Barnett copped last night. Some players try to play for penalties, but RTS was the complete opposite. He tried to act like he was fine to continue when the slowed down footage showed why he stumbling
The worst this year was the 3 week experiment with the disrupter rule. On a couple of ocassions the refs were apologetic for even having to rule on it.

Think this was another one that cost us a game this year. Pretty sure it was Capewell who contested a ball in the air early in the season for him deemed to be disrupting the opposition player. Could have actually been round 1 against the sharks. Saw it a few times after but gone

I was more interested whether Crichton got a hand to the ball while contesting it. Thought he did and the ball travelled forward. Thought there was at least enough question marks to send it upstairs with his hand in and around the ball
They reviewed it. I thought it was ok at the time and didn't think it was an issue. Haven't gone back to rewatch it again though.

Let me preface this next bit by saying the bunker is not working how it should and the calls and interpretations are so inconsistent game by game that it's not funny.

The thing for me though, and I get the frustration, is that last season we had a mentality of resilience and that included the coach. This year there appears to not only be disharmony in the playing group but also bickering and back to blaming the refs. All of that is filtering down to performance on the field. The refs and more realistically the bunker are an easy focus and that's not good for the game at all. Unfortunately they are bringing that upon themselves. The bigger issues for me are how we are performing though. Our boring, robotic style with SJs complete reversal of form from last season, our edge defence and lack of football smarts, the make up and use of our bench, the lack of trust in some if our youth who stood up when needed but then used sparingly afterwards etc etc.

The bunker in particular, as well as interpretations of rules and the punishments are an issue that needs addressing, I think there is a disproportionate level of blame put on them here though and there is so much more that the coach and team need to fix. We are in the position we are this season because of how we have played and performed. That's really the bottom line, and I much preffered last seasons attitude towards it than this years. For example, with the Critta try, last season the focus would be around we conceded a soft try with really poorly organized edge defence, then kick out on the full gifting field position and then concede in that set to a loose ball with several warriors players around but only Critta gets it and scores. We conceded 6 tries and 34 points.....

We have reverted back to an attitude which doesn't work. I hope that gets sorted in the off-season. And as much as people want AW to rant and blow up, he is the one that sets the standard and needs to focus the team on what we can control.

I'm just hoping the rugby league gods will serve up some karmic retribution against the Bulldogs now.
Please let them be eliminated from a contentious call...
You would think Critta will be set to miss a game or two. Be interesting to see what he is charged with.

We definitely were the second best team. We couldn't get out of our half in the last 30mins. Bulldogs were still in top gear but as you saw with Tigers/Manly game anything can happen.

Didn't RTS get 10 in the bin for making high contact (slap in face?) while the other player was already getting tackled and was like 50cm from ground? But shoulder to the head while both were upright is just a penalty?

Webster was the most animated I've ever seen in the presser, I hope to see him back his players more. I agree that players and coaches should always look within themselves to improve on mistakes but when things are out of your control and aren't consistent, then he should blow up. He needs to show his players that he backs them, not just in the sheds.

I think NRL needs to make a new rule. If player causes an HIA due to foul play, that player should be subbed off (still play with 13). If opposing player fails HIA then infringing player is also out for the rest of the game. Or NRL triggers 18th man clause after one foul play HIA.

Anyways, what a shit season but I'm glad I went to SJs last game. In 10 years time, I won't remember his bad games. I'll only remember the ones where I'm jumping up and down and fist pumping the air.

This picture slime posted looks like his hand certainly touches the ball. Was it his hand touching the ball they cleared, or the ball travelled backwards?

Way I saw it was IF he did touch it, it was going backwards. Didn't think it was controversial myself.

The shoulder to RTS's head on the other hand.......

Or the TMM late tackle the previous game we played the Bulldogs.....
