I hope I'm wrong too but I don't think I am. His hand was predominantly forced for those three games otherwise there is no doubt in my mind he would have gone with the same players and same results. Look, AW is the best man for the job and I don't see that changing for a number of years. But, he is still a rookie coach and will be encountering things for the first time in his career, learning to deal with them and making mistakes along the way. Hopefully he can learn fast and the telling piece will be if he can make the hard call that is needed or if he will leave it until it's decided for him
I don't know how long Iron Cleary's been at the panthers, but I'm sure he has passed his knowledge/vibes onto the understudy/s. We've seen AW in the sheds with said panthers (V Kikau era) and he looks the same as he looks today. Something is brewing... just not today/yesterday.

Note: I don't know how to "outline a phrase/paragraph" of any of these brilliant posts. Help needed, and thanks.

Last year, the boys were rebounding from one of the worst seasons the clubs ever had.

This year, we had a three game run where we were building momentum. That momentum ground to a holt when the team changed back to a losing setup.

I love your dedication, but surely it's getting pretty tough to stand on that side of the fence.
The difference is

NO BAILEY SIRONEN

THAT CUNT WAS A GOD

WHYD WE SIGN SHECK?

WHYD WE SIGN CHT?

A bit of that. But the only changes he will make is ones forced by injury. So maybe SJ out. Capewell, Barney and DWZ will come back in and will add something. But the two fundamental issues for me are SJ who is far to predictable and Tohu who is past his best by a fair margin. AW said they will go back and look at what changed in their preparation from when they were going good. That's not what needs looking at. Back row/lock Vs Panthers Ford, Barnett, Walker Vs Dolphins Ford, Barnett, Walker Vs Cowboys Niukore, Barnett, Walker and then in all three games TMM calling the shots with CNK and CHT at 6.

I really hate saying it but it doesn't appear to be coincidental the results are when we are back to Tohu and SJ - two absolute greats when it comes to kiwis and Warriors players but seemingly more and more like they have reached that point in their respective long careers where father time and an aging body has caught up with them. . And not helped tonight with a baffling Walker at 12 selection either.

If SJ is injured that may force Websters hand to go back to a TMM/CHT halves pairing which will be a big step in the right direction. Walker needs to be 13 for at least 60 minutes. Which leaves Tohu on the bench covering prop and maybe 20minutes at 13.

So, you may be right with AW circling the wagons and giving his players a hug. But it's meaningless if the issues, which it seems everyone can see, aren't addressed and changed. I think he genuinely believes in his selections this game which leads me to believe that he wasn't just circling the wagons. And that's what gives me the shits.
Yep on the evidence we have seen this year - selections and abysmal bench usage - its hard to be confident that webby will make the moves he needs to.is he too close to the senior guys? Doe his ego stop him from making the changes that are needed?

SLOW
Everything as slow AF

The passing from the halves were all weak shuffling - amauerish nonsense

Running was like a jog or a guy walking on crutches. Only person I saw hitting the line HARD was Niukore.

PTB was slow.
Tackling was a joke.

Kosi typical defence - stands in-between players like a lost dog

Egan has aged so badly this season - everything from him is SLOW

All these so called senior players getting toasted by 66 points against a bottom of the team Titans - shameful. Absolutely shameful

Kosi has baffled me for years. Auckland is filled with fast islanders and the best wing the warriors can find is slow Kosi.

The guy looks like a Nikoure 2.0
Could be a beast up the middle or second row.
So what the hell is he doing on the wing???????

That was worse than embarrassing. Fortunately I didn't see the game and with recurring PTSD problems as far back as '95 I probably don't want to.

My daughter and 7 year old grandson were at the game and she texted me halfway through to say he had taken off his warriors jersey and hit it under his seat. Kid will be scarred for life with that performance.

Like a lot on here, I thinj the writing was on the wall at team selection. We have one of the better ball playing locks in the game and the coach decides he should be in the second row. Big Ed was/is a liability, RTS is NOT a centre and SJ is either injured again or has thrown his toys out over having to share the half duties with TMM. Tohu is long past it and Jazz is not far behind. The bench selection and use is abysmal. These young guys are capable of playing 60+, not 3 minutes at the end.

I don't think it's a hard fix, bring back the youth and play people where they will have the most effect. The model is already there from the Panthers and Dolphins games.

The coaching this year is turning Kearneyesque, hopefully after that drivel, the owner and CEO will be asking some hard questions

And itll be the baby broncos anyway.

Tbh even if we win next week it doesnt mean anything other than 2 points.

You would think they will come out with more intent and energy to start next game. After the first 20 though who knows what they will dish up as this warriors team just has no consistency.
Tbf we have been bemoaning the fact they don't have consistency within a game, this week we got 80 minutes of consistency.

You need new glasses.
Niukore hits the line accelerating.
Ed runs to the line and slows.

Seriously? why on earth would he do that?

To suggest he slows he first has to be running fast which i know he cant do.. more like a jog to the line... i think he copied that from AFB
