On a positive note.

How good was that one-two punch from Leka hitting it up with speed then AFB ripping in after 🔥 💪

I think seeing Leka inspired AFB to step up his game. That comb was the highlight of the match for me. I could watch it all day on replay. ❤️
AFB if we ever get to the playoffs will go up the gears to levels that will surprise many of you. He is an elite prop. These are regular season games and we are not in contention so his focus is doing his job no more and no less. He is a professional. I am sad he is going next year.

Positives from the game

1) Leka
2) We came from behind and made a game of it
3) Some momentum to build on for next week even though we lost
4) I thought Walker lifted his game with the added responsibility
5) I thought little Jazz played his heart out and that's what we want from him week in and week out. He is there to be an effort player.
6) RTS got some confidence and gained in confidence the longer the match went.
7) Capewell looked like he started to figure out how to chime in on attack instead of just being a tackle bot
8) We got up for the game and showed good ticker. That is all you can ask.
9) The 2024 and 2023 Warriors make far fewer handling errors than the 2019-2020 Warriors and we retain possession better.
10) Egan had a good game and is coming back into form.

Under pressure last year: Stayed calm and complacent.

Under pressure this year: Panic, frenzy and frustration.

Last play options felt rushed without thought, play/kick and hope shit really "fuck it ill just kick there and hope something happens".

I feel for CHT. The team lost, not him. By the looks of him walking into the sheds post game, with his breathing it was almost as if he was having a panic attack, as someone who's had them its an easy thing to spot. Hope the squad rallies around him.

After losing to the Dragons early on this season you could see something was not quite right there with the balance.
Then we lost to the Titans twice and once heavily then I thought we don't really deserve to make the 8.
Nows the time to write the season off blood the youngsters in and play like a team, no pointing the finger at this or that person let's stay unified.

- Matt Dunning is more clutch than CHT.
- Jackson Ford needs to either start or not play. His over arousal from the bench is higher than my first root.
- Wtf does Halasima exclusively play on the left edge in Cup if he only plays right edge in NRL (this includes his minutes vs Tigers in preseason)?
- Lussick's short stint yesterday was at middle forward. If the tactic is for Egan to play 80 we need a hybrid on the bench. Going has played a tiny bit of #9. Maybe chuck him a jersey for the Tigers?

Normally I think it doesn't matters what we say on this forum about players both negative and positive, but in this case I have a hunch he will have a sneak peak at socials including this forum to see how badly his reputation has been damaged and I think we fans need to show some leadership here and rally around CHT. He was just never going to make that final kick -the captain needed to pick TMM or someone else. This is not on CHT. He is a good person and I am sure we all support him to the hilt. I am sure he will do something to make up for this in the next few weeks.
Let's get in behind CHT on this message board.
No.

He needs to man up and take it on the chin.

We all fuck up in life. It’s normal.
The question is how you bounce back from adversity.

Giving him a hug and telling home everything gonna be alright - I leave that to his mum.

You fucked up Chanel. You fucked up bad. It cost me $$$$, the club $$$$ and our season. And you fucked up Multiple times. Now take your punishment like a man. Learn from it and come back bigger and stronger next year. This year is done. You can repent in NSW Cup

Hey!! All those 🙄

Please note…. 🖕!!

I am sorry this needs to be said. Tuapiki's first drop under the high ball set the tone for the night.
RTS should be our full back before Taine. Catching high balls at full back is your job. Notwithstanding that RTS and Ali both left a short kick for each other to clean up resulting in a try.

Hey Wrighty I know you're new to league so I'll explain why I think this shouldn't be the case, from my point of view.

This is a knee jerk reaction, and won't serve us well in the long run if all we are doing is responding to each and everything thing that happens.

  • Ford was poor tonight? Drop him
  • Niukore let 2 tries in early? Drop him
  • Tuaupiki dropped the first ball of the night? Never to play FB again.
  • TMM and CHT had a 2 good games together? Drop SJ as he's shit.
  • Roger was quiet at centre? drop him.
These are things that at times this year many fans have been calling for, and I get it because it's usually after we've been poor, but if we were going to change everything we do (whether it's positive - keep a player in fg, or negative - drop or move a player) in a reactive way we're never going to build the consistency that we all want.
We need to understand WHY these things are happening.

Why was CHT doing all of the kicking?
Why did Niukore over commit in the 2 tackles leading up to their first 2 tries?
Why did both Roger and Ali hang back with that try in the end?

Some of these questions we won't know the answers to as fans, but some of them are more obvious. Injury is a clear one, but I think injuries generally mean that players are playing in situations and combinations that they probably haven't had many reps in. Resulting in the wrong options being taken under pressure.

Based on last nights brain explosions, if we were being reactive we'd have to drop Barney for 2 pretty epic clangers. And we all know we're not dropping him

Are you for real. He didn’t cost you dollars, if you bet on the game it’s on you if you lost. Think your suffering from sport fan depression. It’s a game, take it on the chin and move on.

Can we not use the time excuse? These guys are supposed to be professional athletes ffs, they’ve known about this game for months and other nz teams play this time slot plenty with no dramas
We do know that they only flew over via 2 flights on Thursday.
A serious person would have had this team fly over Tuesday or Wednesday.
So what is it now.
Last 10 (?) years we have won 4/26 (?) games at this time slot in Aus.

I know you're just saying what others are saying and not your opinion, so this is for those saying Niukore let in two tries.

First try was a defensive lapse / exposed. It took 4 in the tackle to stop Seb Kris, they got jammed in the ruck, on the wrong side of the play ball. Was abit unfortunate, and thats why quick play the balls can be your best friend on attack.

Next to niukore, you had a massive gap then AFB, then a massive gap to Barnett. Whilst there was 5 players jammed around the ruck/ on the short side with 3 meters to the touch line. They had a 3 man overlap already lol.

Try was coming here regardless.

I think it was the other Hudson Young try that I thought Niukore made a very poor read in defence.
But even then, that's kinda my point.
If we make kneejerk reactions when someone has a poor read (and guess what, over a while season most players will make the wrong call occasionally) then we'd be rolling out a different 17 every week

Two weeks in a row our halves can’t ice the game. Hope all the SJ haters are happy.
What? Swap one invisible half for another?
SJ would have slotted right into that position.
Although he probably would have kicked that last conversion so he would have been the hero regardless of how little he had put in during the match

Five of them all huddled in that left corner is ridiculous

That wasn’t all on Nikoure. He was the first marker.
