I'm pretty sure they aren't allowed to field players not on the extended list. So if there is a mass exclusion in their line up tomorrow, I'm not sure what they do. It's not like they can call up their cup side to play instead tomorrow.
This game will hopefully confirm som ething I thought of. Boyd could be a better option at Half for the Warriors for his direct organised playmaking and field and goal kicking it seems more suited to finals football.
Interesting Update from Michael Caryanis on ABC. Because of the Knights NSW cup team having a bye, a lot of them were contacted and put on notice to be ready in case they are needed. Some of them might’ve been going away for the weekend so they've let them know today.
Do they know what this bug is? You have tbe Warriors players, the crowds exposed. Then there are fellow plane passengers and a usually crowded arrivals area. What are the protocols of the NRL here?

They will know what it is by now, since it sounds like it has been going on for a few days.
It is a conundrum.
I initially assumed it was something like salmonella, Campylobacter, Listeria etc.
But looking at that list of players out, it is reminiscent of when I used to work with Norovirus which would sweep through wards and staff.
Who knows without more intel.
Toby Crosby had a crook gut recently, and he was away for a while. Not saying the two things are related, but the Warriors obviously managed that situation well.
As for your question about planes, there is at least a 12 hour window before the exposed players become contagious....great question....but not a problem.
Been done before (Knights exemption under Covid, Dolphins due to injury crisis). The show must go on.
This incident qualifies, exceptional circumstances, no one sets out to play with half a dozen reserve graders.....so it is not like there would be anything underhand by the Knights.
I have no problem with any exceptions given to the Knights to get a team on the field.
We have had other instances of players being sick and they have managed to get on the field. Or it isn't as many players as this seems to be.
Similar to covid where the NRL had to provide the required games per week.
We were probably lucky during covid a large outbreak for 1-2 two teams didn't turn into cancelled games or players brought in.
The Knights NSW Cup team having a bye is really fortunate in this instance. If they don't have enough players in the top 30 let them bring players in from the NSW Cup side. I'd rather have that then players feeling kind of ok then our players catch it and have to deal with it travelling home and the following week. Or worse still we are in the same position next week.
