[QUOTE="tajhay, post: 182596, member: The game taught the youngsters a lesson that they need to be alert at all times. Hero individual plays will come where they will get to shine,

That's the thing with Roger he's a brilliant player and makes some metres and scores some terrific tries but sometimes they can be self centred not team centred I think the Daly M has a bit to do with that.
Hopefully it all doesn't go to Metcalfs head either.
Now that the Dal M points have gone private, this should be less of a problem.

I think some team members were genuinely surprised at the initial way they started to get so aggressive-particularly CNK. Initially it was Tapine on CNK close to the line where he was penalised and began to play up. With CNK a Kiwis teammate with Tapine and ex club teammate, he looked shocked at how Tapine was giving it out. As well as giving it to the crowd, Tamale was vocal at DWZ on the field all game from opposing sides. Think it was a good lesson for us that this is what’s needed to take the next step and there’s no mates on the field if you’re on opposing sides, I’d like to see us lead with actions though
You can't play their game, otherwise like Fish, you get suspended. Better to rely on hard defence (within the rules) to highlight their "dirty" tackles.

This is going to be a big test for us, we don't want to go two losses in a row and start getting the losing jitters, since we have a few hard games coming up... I'm hoping Healy gets a run, need more creativity around the ruck, TMM just seems like a bandaid if something should happen in the backs, hasnt shown much in his short stints, not blaming him but need someone whos job it is to control the ruck while giving Egan a break... I actually think Webster will go that way

Agree
Give a Healy a go
Egans test this week out of dummy half
If he just keeps shovelling on all day
Send him to Huntly become a coal miner son😎

He got suspended because his shoulder connected with a guys face. That game though against dolphins, he was giving it out. He had a battle with Molo most of the game

IMO they went full 100% australian sport spirit anyway, call your mothers whores then have a BBQ after the game and be best mates

I could never get on their bipolar trains. I can see Fish dragging CNK to them and taking names/kicking ass next time though

That’s a bit of a myth in my experience in Aus- sure they’ll dish it out plenty and call it ‘banter’ but if you dish it back they don’t see it the same way and get very defensive

At a stoppage from my seats in bay 29 I could see Starling giving RTS a gobful. RTS of all people.
Starling was like a rabid dog that game. Not surprising I guess given he calls his own half back the c word during the game.

Being that particular player had an issue with police being aggressive with him in the courts, it certainly put a lot in perspective regarding Starling in that game. Was the only one to cop a suspension out of those put on report. Think it was yourself who noticed him and Fogarty at odds on the field a while back, makes you wonder if those two struggle with each other since Starling recently extended after Fogarty had signed with manly?

Hope we meet them in the finals and bury them..

Fairplay to Tapine. He's a helluva player, and i guess u can act like a pelican all u want when u win.

Karma's a bitch tho Joey, this game has a way of biting u in the ass.......for some reason im thinking this isnt the last we'll see of the Raiders this season....we'll see (and we'll remember as well)

I think TMM would have more effect from fullback later in the game.
Just having him come into the line adding a little extra to an attacking line that's struggling and just playing side to side.

Congrats Ricky..you have now surpassed the Roosters as the dirtiest team in comp...get back into the box and stop roaming the sideline
Pretty oldschool by Sticky.

He knew we were playing with a baby faced line up, the filth they put on is an old tactic and certainly not invented by Sticky, older men have been bullying younger men since the dawn of the planet of the apes.

The kiwis and Poms used to live and die by that mantra vs the Kangaroos....try go out there and take their heads off to put them off their game.

My ladder predictor before this game had us finish 5th and play them first week of the finals, we will see.

I keep reading about Leka needing to learn.

I do not agree.

The reason he made it out of the 💙 Mighty NSW cup is that he learned those lessons already.

Players are entitled to having off games, noobs tend to get microscoped and blamed for losses.

Hey I said in my first post in this thread that Leka made mistakes that killed us at crucial times, but I do not blame him for the loss.

Thing is the team are entitled to defend those blips, when one guy falters the other sixteen have to step up and defend it. The one guy is not the reason you lose, it is the other sixteens failure to meet the added challenge....it is a team sport after all.

And yeah like I say Leka doesn't have to learn anything from this game, he has been in this system for years, he knows already that he fugged up, there is nothing to learn, he didn't make those mistakes through lack of experience nor lack of training, nor lack of video analysis.

What he does need to do is hold his ground, stay confident, ignore the bad game, do not let it get to him, just keep doing what he tried to do in the Raiders game and if it goes wrong, do not dwell on it, try again.

No learning needed, he already knows how to play rugby league exceptionally well.

People talk about needing to learn after a player makes mistakes like for example they knock on, I ask you what do you need to learn? you already know a knock on is bad, you already know you try to not knock on every time you run out there....there is nothing to learn.....
