That is why I am not catatonic about the miss either. If it went to golden point we were going to lose anyway.
That said talk about finding a way to lose a match.

Anyway in terms of finding a scape goat I nominate Jackson Ford. Get him into NSW Cup and Sifa up instead.
A stupid penalty leading to a try and a dumb knock on with hands of clay.
Just end the experiment of him as a first grade player
A big part of 14-0 was him.
Change Ford to Niukore. His play led last to all 3 tries from the Raiders. He really needs to play in the middle and get Laban or maybe Leka?

I think we need to be bringing Sifakula up too. Most teams have that prop in the mould of AFB they send at the opposition close to the line in that crash play. I think we should be seeing if Sifakula and his imposing frame can handle that, or we need to go to market for one?

bro, that was ugly!

poor CHT, gotta feel bad for the kid,
just nothing coming off for him.
couldn’t take a trick tonight.

the game was in the bag with a few kickable conversions and a possible highlight reel of a take on the sideline.

really feel for him, man.
the kid loves this club more than most. he’ll be better for it though, and i look forward to that.

neoliberalism
He won't be better for that, his confidence was shot, the look he had when he took that last kick at goal you knew he wasn't getting it.
Unclutch is a hard attribute to overcome, it's all about wanting the ball when the game is in the balance he didn't want it.
To be fair nobody in our team did.

Probably Tuapiki was not our next choice goal kicker. But he was injured too.

I thought little Jazz played very well. He deserves to keep his spot. Sifakula MUST come into the side even if for 2-3 games this season as part of our secession planning for next year. Ford must go.
Ford must go. Sure he has good stamina. But he always starts the game like cold porridge and takes too long to warm up and ends up committing errors before he has acheived his optimum level. If he stays in the team he needs to warm up longer.
I would just drop him - he has served us well and was a good pick up last year. No harm done. Time to move on to Sifakula.

I am sorry this needs to be said. Tuapiki's first drop under the high ball set the tone for the night.
RTS should be our full back before Taine. Catching high balls at full back is your job. Notwithstanding that RTS and Ali both left a short kick for each other to clean up resulting in a try.

Jazz was great, but showed in his hit up after points scored that he’s no Bunty and was driven back. Don’t think he has the size to be an effective front rower, but if he was re signed would look to trim him down a bit and play lock with Walker coming on off the bench for him in games

All fullbacks have occasional mistakes, Roger and Charnze are no different.
He has been very safe in all other games otherwise so can't really be too mad. Quite obvious it was a tough night under the high ball for everyone

I give Leka a 7 out of 10. He was very good I thought but will learn from a few mistakes he made.

As I said, when healthy. He's been battling injuries nearly all season.

Penrith have done pretty well with a pretty similar predictable style the last four seasons. Everyone knows their game but they have still won three premierships in a row.
It helps when you get 50/50 calls go your way every week, not once in a blue moon

7 out of 10 is very generous for someone who missed a tackle leading to a break, gave away a penalty then lost a ball in the tackle trying to play park footy. I dont knock him for these things, hes 18 years old and everyone will do it coming in.. He'll learn, especially from that lost ball - in the big leagues its harder to pull that kinda stuff off you probably did 100 times playing school footy.

Fuck I feel bad for CHT, watching a few clips of him after the game the kids taking the loss hard.
Normally I think it doesn't matters what we say on this forum about players both negative and positive, but in this case I have a hunch he will have a sneak peak at socials including this forum to see how badly his reputation has been damaged and I think we fans need to show some leadership here and rally around CHT. He was just never going to make that final kick -the captain needed to pick TMM or someone else. This is not on CHT. He is a good person and I am sure we all support him to the hilt. I am sure he will do something to make up for this in the next few weeks.
Let's get in behind CHT on this message board.

Tbf Mitch set the tone the set before with the ridiculous attempt. He should know better.

Just as the game was about start I got rain fade so decided to get up in the morning to watch a replay. Glad I made that decision as it would have been tough to take that after midnight.

Felt a bit like that game a couple of seasons ago against Brisbane where we were a slight chance of making the 8 and Walsh had an off night with the boot despite us scoring more tries. As frustrating as it's been I'm stilling feeling a little optimistic about the remainder of this season though. Other than the abomination against the Titans we are at least not giving up, yet. I hope we really lift for these next couple of home games.

Still find the independent doctor rulings mystifying. For the second time against the Raiders this season they've had players who have been clearly impacted by a head knock able to stay on the field. Strange was pretty wobbly for a few plays so should have been sent for an assessment at the same time as Tuaupiki at least.

When he came on the field the whole game changed. We were losing 14-0. He came on and we won the rest of the match. His hit ups got us on the front foot every set he touched the ball except the one where he was a show off. I think 7 is on the money. Had he not made those mistakes you point out I would have gone an 8.5 or even 9.

On a positive note.

How good was that one-two punch from Leka hitting it up with speed then AFB ripping in after 🔥 💪

I think seeing Leka inspired AFB to step up his game. That comb was the highlight of the match for me. I could watch it all day on replay. ❤️
I really think Halasima, Laban, and Ale/Sifakula could take us to the next level.
