This issue with SJ has been the other 90% of the game. Our attack still looks insanely less clunky without him at the helm.

Don't forget the CONSTANT bomb to corners that we were subjected to at the start of the season.

Would he had nailed those conversions? yeah.
Would we have been in a position where he could even take those? This season results say no.
When healthy, he is our best half by a fair margin.

Nothing wrong with the constant bomb to the corners, it works. Our other parts of the game is where we were failing

well... that sucked.... i was pretty confident going in, thought we'd roll them. Should've, they're not very good.

Anyway, I still think we make the 8 - you watch, will win the next 3, then head to Manly... that's the real last chance, and I think we do it

Look, I've said it all season. I'm an SJ fan, but brothers been off all season. Can you name a single game this year where he's been clutch.

Yes. There is. It's predictable and puts no pressure on the opposition, especially when higher tier backs are under the ball.

As I said, when healthy. He's been battling injuries nearly all season.

Penrith have done pretty well with a pretty similar predictable style the last four seasons. Everyone knows their game but they have still won three premierships in a row.

Their attack isn't that predictable. Luai, however much I dislike the guy, has been really dynamic and can hit both sides of the field.

We. Literally. Just. Bombed. To. The. Same. Corner. Over. And. Over.
I disagree, the majority of their game is predictable.
Agree that parts like Luai and other dynamic players in the team is the difference between us and them.

Niukores penalty that let Raiders take the lead the following set was absolutely maddening. Just pure idiocy. Defining moment of the game for me, other than CHTs choke.

A game that can be summed up by saying you have to take your chances. I have sympathy for CHT, having done some goal kicking. For me was made even harder by the Raiders rolling through the first 20. Losing our FB and goal Kicker in Pompey did not help. However they came back and the effort was there. Chances created but not taken. Sums up the season really.

Which makes their attack what?

I think we are getting into 'agree to disagree' territory, here. I get the 'they know their jobs' perspective, I just don't think that their predictability and ours under SJ, where even comparable.

I am sure that was a Webby instruction

I think TMM and CHT are actually also trying to bomb to the same spot. They just can’t kick properly
It's quite obviously a game plan thing

Unfortunately in the red zone CHT and TMM haven't been able to execute as well as they had been previously. Plethora of backline injuries the past two games and players being in and out hasn't help our red zone attack either. It's just not our year with injuries, luck and everything else under sun.

As I said the large part of their game plan is predictable. They literally do the same kicks from deep to a corner that we do.

Hopefully the club has more than pompey and sj practicing kicks. And hopefully a kicking coach can teach our freaking halfback how to kick. We were out enthused at the start.

Our last couple of mins summed up our club. Other teams would have thrown a shot, we give it to capewell to do a run on the last.

Feel sorry for cht. Not his fault we loss. Would only have drawn for a couppe of mins before fogarty would have gone for fg anyway.
That is why I am not catatonic about the miss either. If it went to golden point we were going to lose anyway.
That said talk about finding a way to lose a match.

Anyway in terms of finding a scape goat I nominate Jackson Ford. Get him into NSW Cup and Sifa up instead.
A stupid penalty leading to a try and a dumb knock on with hands of clay.
Just end the experiment of him as a first grade player
A big part of 14-0 was him.
