People often wonder why a kicker puts it into Row Z from right in front, because no matter where the kick is from you kick it the same way time and time again.

If CHT stepped up with a clear mind and just kicked it normally it would have sailed through

I'm not a big CHT fan, don't think that's a secret, but someone had to kick and unfortunatey for him it started bad and then got worse. To be fair to him, he wasn't expected to be a first choice half this year, and defintely wasn't on the goalkicking radar.

He tries hard and respect to him for that, but imo he's just not much more than a backup half, maybe a hooker/utility bench role at best.

When the cupboard is bare you're stuck with the crumbs, and we're pretty thin in regards to options at the moment.

I’m all for mental health & looking after our players, and no one will feel worse than Chanel right now. I also understand that we didn’t show up for the first 20, we lost our fb & our centre, and had huge reshuffles. I understand all of this. However, despite all of this, CHT 0/3 from the boot, with two easy conversations. I’m sorry, but the word I keep repeating is unacceptable. This is a professional sport that players are paid more than 90% of general public, we support our team through thick and thin, and a professional athlete cannot convert directly in front to save our season. Simply unacceptable.

For the first time this season, I felt that we would lose and after 14 - 0 down I didn't care. Carting off Pompey did not inspire confidence either. Even, if we had gotten to Golden Point, I felt that they would win that too. Now that's the pressure is off, we can enjoy the rest of the competition. Just pick your second team to win the GF

If people are now worried about his mental health then

1. He shouldn’t play in the NRL
2. Webby should ensure he sees a professional to be sure he’s safe
3. Give him some meds
4. Tell him not to read social media
5. Give him a hug
6. Get him to do 2 hours a day on kicking
7. Send him to NSW Cup to both protect and punish him

Amazing when we were Redliffe/GC/Central Coast covid constrained and based we didnt get that 8 pm slot.

Seeing as we play home games at 8pm NZT I've just used games which have kicked off from 9pm NZT onwards in Australia dating back to include the 2015 season:
19 games for 3 Wins & 16 losses (6 to Storm on ANZAC Day).
2015, 2020 & 2021 didn't see any games fitting the criteria. I was incorrect earlier with 2022 actually containing 3 games when we were based in Australia. All 3 were losses & included Nathan Brown's final game vs Manly as well as 10-70 in Melbourne.
Would look even worse if you pull the timeslot back to after 8:15pm NZT

I know you're just saying what others are saying and not your opinion, so this is for those saying Niukore let in two tries.

First try was a defensive lapse / exposed. It took 4 in the tackle to stop Seb Kris, they got jammed in the ruck, on the wrong side of the play ball. Was abit unfortunate, and thats why quick play the balls can be your best friend on attack.

Next to niukore, you had a massive gap then AFB, then a massive gap to Barnett. Whilst there was 5 players jammed around the ruck/ on the short side with 3 meters to the touch line. They had a 3 man overlap already lol.

Try was coming here regardless.

Fyi in this pic the player you think is Niukore is actually Walker...Niukore overcommits and ends up one of the 5 players trapped directly behind the ruck. He actually achieves nothing on this play but leaving the massive gap to Walker. then to AFB.

A professional side you should have backups. CHT or someone else should be practising their goal kicking if Pompey goes off. When he was doing it fulltime he wasn't too bad.

The side line ones you can live with. The one clos one though. That should have been made.

Sort of sums him up. He doesn't get the big moments. Since he's been in first grade he's missed a lot of field goals in front in close games.

Taine unfortunately was back-up for Pompey

Completion at one point in the 2nd half (think it was 14-10 at the time) was 92% and we finished up at 85%

Time difference just needs to be accounted for. Go to bed early or something

tough last couple of results, but that's football. Tough for CHT when that's not his gig, he was pretty much handed a poisoned chalice, although I'd say he would have expected to get that last one too.

Pompey gets some grief in these forums, but for mine he was our best in the first half. Safe, strong and the little step he's developed this year to get through the first tackle has made him a little more dangerous on attack. I'm not saying he's a star, but he's developed into a true first grader this year IMO and I'm enjoying having him in the side

Just needs to work on his initial burst of speed otherwise I reckon time to turn into a back rower.

Definitely best role is a bench role for him. Does hsve what it takes to be the guy. The guy is SJ. We can’t all be SJ.

I'd be putting him at hooker to start games for around 20mins to take the intial sting as hes a pretty solid defender. Egan is far better when we're rolling. Makes use of carrying a bench hooker instead of Lussick getting 8mins a game. Come on Webby.
