Pick Your Team Cowboys v Warriors - Round 14, 2024 PICK YOUR TEAM

I think the returning regulars should be gradually introduced. One or two and the rest play reserve grade and slowly bring them back in.
I think Webby now knows what the depth can deliver to hand over abit more responsibility. So hopefully a slight change in the game plan.
SJ doesn't need to hog the ball all the time, TMM or CHT are both capable of playmaker and last tackle options.
Need to quit being predictable..
The cowboys are in no man's land right now. They're a bit like us who need to start some sort of charge up the ladder. Only difference is our injury toll...
It's interesting that this weekend's matches have been won by teams lower on the ladder than those above them. This means we will not move up the rankings unless the cowboys beat the roosters today.
If this trend continues until round 27, there is going to be a log jam at the top of the table, a similar compression mid table and an upward movement of teams near the bottom. We have to take advantage of our games during the Origin period to keep us ahead of the chasing pack. Talk of making the finals should be muted until we reach further into the season.

Excited like the rest of us, boys getting healthy and competing for spots is what we want

But for me (unpopular opinion here) I am waiting for the next webby chessboard move

Will he change our attack to L and R

Does the 5th tackle kick option change

Has he more confidence in the young blood

Can he adapt his bench tactics

Can he use Tohu responsibility

Can he change his early season team position spot statements

Can he adapt

Cowboys is a great game to see where he is at and what webs he is spinning

Was he stubborn

Or was he protecting the squad through injury

All to be revealed……. Next week

Tohu Responsiblily

A mate went to a sponsors lunch yesterday & RTS was running freely. Might not be in the mix this week by looks like he'll be back before the listed Rd 17.
I've got a vid of him doing a one on one with a coach chasing balls but no idea how to upload it. Will post if someone can upskill me @tajhay

The guy from Bloke in the bar said Wahs players have been returning 3 weeks early, so R14 vs Melbourne is again 3 weeks ahead of R17 schedule, and about 5 weeks post injury.

I wanted to persist him at centre but the way Charnz bashed them up both on D and attack in the front line and we are not at a stage to experiment halfway through and outside the top 8, I now want Roger at FB and Charnz in the centres

If it’s a logjam till the end of the year we are either going to miss out of the top 8 or finishing top 4 or even 2, depending on if we can reproduce our run like last year

Pompey needs to be in the round 14 team & stay there, he’s no world beater but he is our best centre. Until RTS is fit then Berry probably comes back in however he needs to improve a lot vs his recent form.

The big change for me vs pre-magic round would be Walker in the 13 & Tohu playing 30-50 minutes off the bench, subbing as part of the overall middle rotation.

CHT surely gets the 14 & Lussick is only seen in first grade when Egan is injured. Capewell comes back in however needs to lift big time!
Stats don’t say everything but it seems to me that Pompey is our best centre. Don’t ask me to make sense of it. We just seem to play better with him in the team.

Sort of felt our season was over pre the Panthers game. Two wins against the odds have changed that.

Makes the Cows game the most important of the season. Win with our old head back and we’re back on track. Lose and Websters faith and belief in experience will be in tatters.

Fascinating moment within the big picture of Webbys coaching career.
yeah, I reckon too - win that, showing something learned and entrenched and I think we can go a long way. Cows were good tonight, won't be easy, they played well through the middle and defended well - odd for them

My favoured team is as follows taking into consideration who appears to be available:

1. CNK
2. DWZ
3. Berry
4. Pompey
5. Montoya
6. Martin (disclaimer. I think he should just not play as a 6 but as a 7 in a 6 jersey)
7. Johnson
8. Fonua-Blake
9. Egan with a motorbike helmet on and real serious shoulder pads.
10. Barnett
11. Ford (interchangeable with Barney in the middle)
12. Laban
13. Walker

14. Harris - Tavita
15. Harris
16. Niukore
17. Bunty
17a. Capewell
18. Ale
19. Zyon Maiu’u
20. Lussick
21. Tevaga
22. Graham - Taufa

His X factor is reliability. Not speed. Not stepping. Not hyper anything but reliable. Kicks goals. Didn't seem to drop his lip when sent back to NSW cup duty. Didn't do any interviews saying RTS STOLE my spot or any visible hating. In short

He's a good team man.

Nicoll-Klokstad
Montoya
Pompey
Graham-Taufa
Watene-Zelezniak
Harris-Tavita
Johnson
Fonua-Blake
Egan
Ford
Barnett
Niukore
Walker

Martin
Ale
Tevaga
Halasima

One more week in cup for Sifakula
This is close to the team AW selects. I think he will bring in Rocco (or GT if not available), stick with TMM at no 6, Barnett to prop swapping with Ford, Harris at lock. His bench will be Walker, Bunty, CTK, and Ale.
My team would be
Backs

DWZ
Kosi
Chanz
SJ (7)
TMM (6)
Pompey
MM

Forwards

Fonua Blake
Egan
Bunty
Ford
Barney
Walker

Bench

CTK
Jazz
Niukore
Ale

18th man

Tohu

Reasoning: Dalin had a MOM match at FB against Dolphins.
Kosi put in a solid performance same game - adds size.
Chanz outside Shaun strengthens our attack
TMM reverts back to 6

Walker offering more on attack esp as a link man.

CTK replacement in the backs/hooker.
Jazz for impact
Niukore for middles
Ale for same.

Sorry for now Tohu

I like what Barnett’s been doing at second row the past 2 games. Fords a work horse and a grinder so suits the middle.

Heard from a mate who was on the piss with Robo last weekend at the viaduct that he was filthy at AFB and was adamant he would make him sit out 2 games as punishment. Probably just drunken Lodge type shit but that's what he said...
Yeah well he did sit out two games

Rd 12 & 13!

1. CNK
2. DWZ
3. Berry
4. Pompey
5. Monroya
6. TMM
7. SJ
8. AFB
9. Egan
10. Bunty
11. Ford
12. Capewell
13. Tohu

14. Walker
15. Jazz
16. Barnett
17. CHT

So much to play for this weekend. We’re only one point out of a logjam in 8th position on 14 points and with the cowboys apart of that logjam. Our points differential is -3 and theirs is +4, so a win of 7 or more would be great to start pulling away from them on the ladder. Roosters at 8th on +133 and bulldogs at 9th on +77 means we need to start winning to get up the ladder with other teams far better points differential. Just like every recent year the raiders sit in the 8 on negative differential at -37
