Quite surprised to see the TAB have us as pretty big under dogs in this game. I'd have thought we'd be pretty close to dead even. Wonder if there'll be some negative surprises in the team naming.

I would expect the odds to tighten after team-lists are named, especially with how many players are due to return from injury this week. Cows will be missing cotter from what I’ve seen as he’s expecting a baby on Friday. There remaining SOO contingent will be either rested or come of the bench so that plays into it as well.

I can't imagine Robson playing either with him likely playing 80 at hooker for NSW on Wednesday.

Not necessarily. Captain, whether right or wrong, is not just on the field. The job is huge these days. Egan, Walker, Barnett standing up is part of the leadership scenario. As long as all of them are on the same page and stepping up the 'captain' position on the field is a moot point.
Guess thats why they have no 'leadership' group per se. There's leadership required depending on the game, not any title.

I think that situation is covered by having two captains so that if one is benched the other takes over. In our case, Tohu could be the starting captain and replaced by SJ if and when Tohu is benched.

With limited opportunity to run and Roger outside him expecting the ball. ie He would have been a better 6 if given freedom to run with the ball (eg Luluai, Brooks, Hughes, Mam).

If it counts for anything...we were favourites for each game during that 5 game draw/loss streak. Then underdogs against Pamfers and Phins.

So I'd prefer we stay as outsiders, team seems to respond better.

Also I'd say those are probably fair odds. Cowboys have won 3 straight, they'll have some players backing up but if anything that sometimes seems to fuel sides and the players backing up go to another level.

I know they were doing that with Tohu and Egan. SJ is a natural selection for captain if both are off at the same time. Like the idea of Barnett in the mix...
