He cracked on numerous occasions on Sunday. It is this weakness why he was disliked by the Titans, his poor defense but particularly his lack of consistency especially under pressure was the death of his career at the Titans. I don't think he has changed. Time will tell, but if I had to choose him or hope we could get some great games out of TMM, that's where I would go. Admittedly both are unlikely, but I see us starting to collapse with poor defense on his edge and a lack of spark in attack.
Geez a poor 10-15 minutes and you are writing him off entirely.
Fickle bunch us Warriors fans. Everyone was praising him the week before 😂

I dunno, Tanah is just about to turn 25, and he played 1 game after turning 24 last year.

That means he was 23 and under, playing for a team that finished 13, 14, and 8th in the years that he played the majority of his games. Way too soon to write him off, imo he'll show what being in a decent team with a dominant forward pack can do for a young half.

I don't think Tanah is going to win the Daly M any time soon, but pretty harsh to write him just yet imo. Look at our team, we're a rag tag bunch of players that other teams didn't want - Ford, DWZ, CNK, Barney (to a degree), Clark, Tanah and a few others. Everyone on that list has aimed up and played their best footy under Webby. I think Boyd will go just fine. Outside of those last 3 minutes, his other 157 minutes for the Wahs have been very decent

The reaction to Boyd's performance is a little bit premature. Just like the media is focusing too much on the last 2 mins of Galvin's performance instead of the 78 minutes beforehand, too many people here are ignoring Boyd's performance for the first 70 minutes before the last 10 minutes where he had a few bad kicks. His kicking game, both long and short, was on point and was a crucial reason for why we were suffocating the Knights for large periods of the game. His prior conversions, and Gagai's lack of any conversion, was actually the reason why we were in a position to win that game at the end.

Everyone has bad moments, even the very best. Even superstars like Reece Walsh do dumb things that cost games like kick the ball out on the full during GP to gift us a victory back in rd 7. No one is talking about that now. Barring the last 10 minutes of yesterday's game, Tannah has looked good for us overall.

Replace DWZ and all those things change. A decent winger scores a hat trick with the gems Boyd was putting up, as well as not getting skinned on every defensive play.

No one should be judged based on their form on the GC. It's actually quite impressive how players dramatically improve once they leave there. Clark and Fogarty being the perfect examples of that. That place is so toxic that even a legendary coach like Des can't get them out of the spoon bowl.

Tanah is not an SJ or a Metcalf. He won't break open a game. Trouble was that was his expected role on the GC given their ad-lib style. I think our more structured approach fits his style because he is more of a solid systems player like a Jack Cogger or Schneider. We just need to give him time: at least the end of this year.

I don't disagree with most of what you say. Here's the question that I ask myself... will we win in finals with Tannah Boyd? I say no. I actually think we won't make the top 4 with Tannah Boyd. I doubt anyone will do much better but I think TMM could but probably won't, but I would take that gamble.

The number of times I've seen very good goal kickers miss penalties from the distance in those pressure moments is actually quite high.

Yeah I think we need to be open to something. I could see Tannah lost all confidence in that game. He was second guessing himself and was nearly shot. I would not count on him when it gets tough. I hope he proves me wrong but from what I saw against the knights I think we really lack a lot in the halves now. CHT gives his all, and is a good defender, he has a half Bomb and good chase in him, but not much else. Tannah was brought in to be the Stable guy who guides us around and executes a good game plan getting the simple things right, then when we need him just to do that, he cracked. Kick out on the full, missed a sitter, botched an easy field Goal, we also seemed to lack a bit of direction. The only thing he offered is a basic game plan executing the basics and if he can't do that we may as well start thinking about option B or C. That's how I am thinking now, give us two more games and I think we will know enough about Boyd.
To give him his due, he did set up our first try with an astute kick into the in-goal for Pompey to run on to.

Surely you must concede that you cannot make that conclusion based on one game. It's just way too premature. He needs to be given a decent sample size of games before we make any judgments on the matter. LM's first two games weren't flash hot either and many on here were bagging him and saying that he's not a 7 given how clunky our attack was in the first month of the season. I'm sure if you asked that question about LM after the first 2 games, you would have reached the same conclusions that you are currently making about TB.

It took LM over 2 months to reach his Dally M leading form. That's about the amount of time we have before finals (7 games). We need to give him that time. Making any judgments on him based on two games for us and his GC career is not fair. Especially considering that I think his first two games as the 7 have been better than LM's first 2 games as our 7.
