Would love to see stats on Jackson Ford, average metres per runs, and average post contact metres per tackle and lastly average Nathan Hindmarsh 3rd man, touch the ass of a player tackles.

One last one, amount of tries overturned for obstructing the defence. I’d rather a 40 minute impact player who bends the line, over a super coach stat king who provides zero impact on the result. Do Panther forwards dominate Super Coach stats, fuck no.
Isaah Yeo says hi from Supercoach.

losing momentum through errors and penalties and not being able to defend those errors and penalties should be the main takeaway from this game

Absolutely. I said to someone I was watching game with that if the Storm casually stroll in for a try on their very first set in our half, then that is game over. Happened about 2 mins later and then you just knew floodgates would open.

The attacking shape with TMM/SJ is a very minor issue, the very large issue is errors/penalties and 0 defensive resolve under pressure.

Its not worth picking out individual performances, or how Webby shuffled the line up with injuries etc - we were fucked out of the game by the ref plain and simple.

The Ford/Hughes penalty is just a farce, they score the next play and we truly lost all momentum there.
Going back for the TMM high shot. Another nail in the coffin type call.

These were key moments that put us off our game at pivotal moments.

What the score line with and without Tohu?

Bro
Tohus done. This game proved the hypothesis. Sory that hurts you personally...
I have wanted to disagree with you for a while on this but just can't. And as poor as our outside backs have been at times defensively, I can't help but think is a slow Tohu getting back up and struggling to get back in the line creating issues out wider? It is really noticable versus the younger guys in previous games being quicker at this.

Also why is everyone crying about this?

Ford made contact with the kicker which is 100% a no no. He didnt get binned so whats the issue?

I agree, but would like a better sample right across the board. Our back 5 week upon week make great metres to help the forwards out in yardage, but yesterday apart from CNK our back 5 was largely non existent due to injuries and ill discipline. I think that put huge pressure on the team as a whole

The other glaring issue is Mitch in the 2nd row. Hes an absolute monster north / south but we dont ask AFB to play left to right, we shouldnt be asking Barnett to.

His laterally mobility causes issues on the scramble. Look how far infield Pompey is here and hes still inside his winger. Mitch cant slide, TMM ball watches and Pompey gets left on an island.

Lots to dissect out of that one but main point for me is how we are set up. Looked like we made major changes to our shape. It's like Webster has tried to accommodate everyone and in doing so makes it worse for everyone.

I'm sure the injuries, errors and dumb plays will be discussed as well but we are back to the slow, average play again with supposedly our strongest team.....
Yes when Webby said they would balance things up it didn't click. Like a car it started great ran beautifully then started misfiring and then overheated and started blowing gaskets and seals until the tow truck came. Hope that helps and leads to an evidence based solution of how to fix our car......I mean team.

Yeah, it's one that I think could be written off as a bad game against the team sitting first. It just seems very coincidental that we go from the Panthers game with mass changes and high energy through to slowly reintroducing injured players to the point we had last night and our performance has returned to mirroring what it was pre the Panthers game. We are going to need a huge performance this week to prove it was just an anomaly.

As a side note, was it the right call to reintroduce SJ and change our shape against the number 1 team? Can't help but feel we had a better chance going with last week's lineup and strategy.

He see's the opportunity to milk a penalty by intentionally following through to kick Ford.
His comical facials give it away.
If you look at a number of our kicks, SJ and TMM pull their leg back to avoid contact. It's almost come to the point they leave it out there and get the contact (risking injury I guess though) We didn't pressure the storm kicks after the Ford penalty.

I thought that team needed a big one with the reintroduction of those players albeit against the competition leaders after what our players that came in did against good opposition previously. NSW cup impressive again yesterday and many of those players that came in, came from there in those wins. No I don’t think it was the right call to reintroduce SJ yesterday and change the unknown of what we’ve been throwing out and wonder if SJ has become predictable? There’s also a concern about how he copes with what could be taken as a demotion, or shifted at least from the role has maintained? I feel stink to question him after what he’s done for the jersey and what he did last year, but I’ve gone from dreading the idea of being without him and nervous about our chance of win without him to being fairly comfortable of the proposition of being without him
