Pick Your Team Storm v Warriors - [Round 6, 2025]

NZWarriors.com

Here’s the rub.
Our 3 wins on the bounce have all been against teams who won well the week before and were clear favourites with the TAB and the “so called experts” against us.
Webster Ball has arrived, whatever the hell it is and is effective.
Boys digging in.
Boys digging in is exactly what we have to do. Our defence is all that really matters. Not so much points.

We simply need to defend for 87min and if we do then the points will come. Win boys. Win it.

Someone said it, but if our edges defend like they have been this year, we’ll get torn apart I feel. We’ve been jamming hard and forcing errors from the opposition but Melbourne would’ve seen this and are we too good to not execute. One loop skip pass to the winger and it’s over. As we’ve seen as soon as our line breaks we get scored on, as we’re too slow to turn and chase.

Jockey defence will work on them.

Outside those 2 5 minute spurts where they scored 36 pts, I actually think Manly looked the better side. They were actually on top until Garrick got pinged for losing balance in the early part of the second half. From that moment on, Storm scored 3 straight over the next 5 minutes and the jig was up.
I take heart that Manly were the better side overall. Then I remember the brief 5 minute "spurts" and the 36 points and I get very worried again.

grant is a cheeky bastard. He loves to intentionally throw the ball at opposition defenders on the ground. He did it to Ford last year but fortunately the ref saw right through it.
Unfortunately refs favour the Storm most the time
But we can’t have D too lose in our backs
Both their wingers are good finishers
Metcalf etc got to have a go
If we just try to defend we will be run over
