You think 4 points would have been enough to win it? 🤷‍♀️

We take the 2:0 lead and punish their mistakes and make them kick off, instead of attacking in the redzone like headless chickens as usual which ended with a long range try down the other end 🤣 Look I was like "prove me wrong" boys and they kinda blew up in their faces
We are very smart league analysts…

… in hindsight!

Unpopular opinion - I think what Webby is doing with Leka and Vaumunga is spot on.

Both are showing really great signs and are building, with both likely to see a bit more game time with Fish out.
I don't think either are doing enough to say you would replace then for anyone in the starting 13.

Leka has made 100m once this year (because he had a 70m break) and Vaimunga hasn't yet. Imo Webby's doing the right thing, letting the experienced players take the sting out of the match before giving these 2 a run. I think as the year goes on we'll see them get more game time, and will come on earlier or at different moments.

Let them build and continue to develop. 15-25 games this year figuring out their roles before they hit the ground running next year.
Yet Capewell and Niukore haven't cracked 100m this year either... In fact Vaimunga with 29 minutes against the Tigers got better meters than anything Niukore has produced and only 1 meter less than Capewell's best this year. Capewell played 80minutes to get that. I don't mind that they build their minutes but it is a bit of a piss take to say they Vaimunga hasn't made a 100m when our starting backrower can't do the same with more minutes. You diminish them with shit like that when they are the players they are really putting in.

I don't think it's a piss take. If you want to start, you have to play better than the incumbent. Neither Leka or Vaimauga can say they've outplayed either Capewell or Niukore consistently yet. Before this weekend, neither Leka or Vaimauga have had to make more than 20 tackles in FG, and with neither banging the door down on attack, I would be really worried if we were asking them to make 25-40 tackles a game like Niukore and Capewah.

Both Leka and Vaumunga have much higher ceilings than Capewah and Niukore, so they'll deffo overtake them, but currently they haven't earned that imo.

We won the second half 14-6

If JFH hadn’t injured himself, and Ford wasn’t binned, and we took the 2 points on offer, and Hughes hadn’t made that incredible 40-20…. Who knows, that first half might have been closer… a lot of if and. Butts I know
Which makes me question if we want to bring in two amateur wingers... Reynold's kicking game is top 3 in the game at the moment. So I'm sure he'd pick them being out of position pretty quickly. People forget that 40/20s are nearly impossible to force and are only possible because of bad wingers positioning. Of which TT has proven 40/20s don't happen on his side. And TMM is not inexperienced as a fullback at all.

Running game I'm not too concerned about, conceding points seems to be our current issue.

Best part of the game was watching these two and Bunty. I could not take my eyes off them every time they were on the screen. Man crush on full alert 😂

Biggest let down was Capewell - some really rubbish passes and play from him. Looks like an old man out there.

Ford was another huge disappointment. Webby needs to make these senior blokes accountable. They let the team down.
Capewell top of the stats this year
