I think a lot of it has to do with the way we’re playing and we’re we are on the ladder.

Nobody wants to watch our games, commentate on our games, we don’t get coverage, we don’t get spoken about and we’re no where near finals contention.

We have no one to stand up for us and we have no out and superstar that can create talking points in the media.

We are cannon fodder this year unfortunately.

Have a look how the tigers get treated, how the dogs have been treated in the past. Now that they are winning they are getting the calls.
I wonder with us being a top 4 side last year whether we saw that favourable treatment? We certainly got more fair calls, but our sponsors ceo also called refs cheats publicly so hard to tell

Good job. There’s nowhere to hide in this one just like against TMM. This is worse because RTS was stumbling. How can you claim you’re trying to protect the head when you don’t punish this as all the others are? Accidents like head on head happen, but point of shoulder to head means the defenders got it wrong. This should be obvious when the attacking player is showing obvious signs of concussion from the contact

We're literally the first club ever to sell out every home game this year. The NRL just straight up doesn't care for the warriors. We were top 4 last year and never got carried through games the way the dogs did last night.

Wow a 2 page spread on the Crighton Rts incident in Brisbane Sunday paper The Curious Mail
Co authorhed Michael Carrianis David Roccio and Buzz Rothfield
Quotes from Cam George
Also had a couple of minutes on ABC 7 pm Bris news where Nzw stories never appear
What a pity this didn't happen round 1. we'd have the Refs on our side.

There are some stubborn old farts at the top of the food chain. They won’t come out of their burrows to say it. But no way do they want NZ winning it.

If you dropped every ref for incompetence you wouldn’t have any game

Twice this year DWZ has been tackled in the air over the goal line and both times there was no professional foul nor penalty try. On one occasion when challenged Chris Butler said “we don’t give penalty tries or professional fouls for that”.

Later in this season when there was a similar incident in another game the PT was awarded and Annesley said there has never been a “we don’t give…” philosophy and in the weeks that followed PTs were given out like confetti.

Similarly this weekend, no sin bin for a shoulder to RTS head, big uproar and since Friday night sinbins have been a dime a dozen.

Why is it that the decisions are changed only after the Wahs have been stitched up?.

Those idiots running the show need to be smarter. ChatGPT could do a better job than half these twats reffing the game. They should figure out how to replace these human idiots with AI. That’s the short answer.

Another example

Against the doggies
Mahoney ball plants while still held in the tackle and falls without playing it properly yet we get penalised and when challenged by Barnett pointing out that a ball plant had been penalised all year Raymond said Mahoney had not been allowed to play the ball properly

I get it to the extent that I get frustrated when we get the rough end of the refereeing stick.
However we look at things through a very strong Warriors lense and tend to ignore it when we get the rub of the green. Also because we don’t have the same investment in other teams we don’t objectively see when other teams get screwed either. As I’ve said before living in Sydney and being an away supporter is eye opening, EVERY team thinks the refs are against them and EVERY team has some convoluted reason as to why.
For the record I do feel the NRL has some serious credibility issues, particularly not a good look considering how tight they are with betting agencies, however I do often come back to commercially it would benefit the NRL for the Warriors to do well with both player pool and revenue so that does negate the theory a bit

How true is this though ? how much of a cut does the NRL gets from merchandise, ticket sales etc from NZ? Financially I thought it benefits Australia if an Australian team wins it…

Far too much ref cope going on as usual.

Not too many mentions of the 13 errors we made, and just general terribleness all round bar the usual few who have turned up all season.
More to do with why our players aren’t being afforded the same duty of care as others for me. Unlikely we win with two edges disrupted losing both centres, just would have been nice to see one of their edges disrupted for 10 minutes as should have the case since it was his action that cost us our second centre in that game

Absolutley.

I don’t think we win regardless but I still think you can discuss the two subjects objectively and come to the same conclusion.

We are shit

Refs are shit
yeah, both can be true - though I really don't subscribe to the opinion we've been THAT bad.

Something which hasn't been said here (as far as I can tell) is the main motivation for getting this sort of action out of the game is the liability the NRL risks when not doing all it can to exercise proper duty of care for contracted players. It's crazy that it would open itself up to potential injury suits in the future by not having its direct employees (the refs) abiding by clear direction to properly sanction the sort of action we saw from Crighton. If it's about the money then they have to think about that and apply rulings consistently, otherwise they're fucked as organization. They may very well point to a judiciary ruling in this case, but that's after the fact of the refs and bunker officials already clearing it as not more penalty worthy than an incorrect restart or 10 metre infringement, there's an indication of liability right there.

NRL is in a constant pissing contest with AFL, NRL has one assist the AFL could only dream of-NZ.
When it comes to negotiating TV deals sponsorship etc they want as many eyes in NZ as possible to add value to their product. The NRL is wanting an additional 3 teams in their comp, one of the biggest potential player markets is in the pacific and NZ only thing standing in the way is Union, best way to sway players is through success.

That’s it though isn’t it
We have strong bias for the Warriors while officials and strong bias to their local teams .. exactly the same but opposite direction
