General Warriors Preseason 2025

Nothing official from the club and just saw it mentioned on knights forum, so still just speculation on my part
Great signing if true. He improved out of sight during his stint with the Knights.

I didn't think much of him in NZ high school games, but he looks a definite first grader playing Flegg for the Knights.

Knights doing well identifying NZ talent, Leo Thompson, Sebastian Sua and I still believe Francis Manuleleua can be an elite NRL player if ever puts it together.

Warriors likewise in recognising Jack Thompson, someone I think you’ve mentioned as highly regarded too? Interesting seeing knights extend Tyrone Thompson by a season, I wonder if it’s recognition from Leo telling him knights are a good team for him to become accustomed to league? From what you’ve seen of Loza in more recent times, is more in the five eighth mould?

Surprised Season 3 GIF by The Simpsons

Surely we must be close to a preseason game at least?

I feel the jinx was put on the 2024 season when we fired the drummers for the last 25 years and changed the pre game song

The following song brought us good luck (of i course I am not being serious or maybe I am ?)

That songs mud, and reminds me of getting pumped at home. Manly’s got till I collapse by Eminem instrumental blasting, that would get me fired up

Looking forward to the All Stars squads being named as well.

Will be interested to see who we have involved, 10 of our 28 are eligible

DWZ and Fish are probably the only two that are locked into their spot; everyone else will be either fighting for their position (Like Marata), or we'd probably want to see how they fit together (Like Clark/Walker)

I imagine Fish will have a fair bit of sway in it, but with so many changes and starting earlier than everyone else, you'd probably want all hands (bar him and Dallin) on deck

Kai Kara France briefly talking about Fish at a training at CKB.
Just said he’s a Mahi Dog, he’s quiet but puts in the work and the other guys are following him.
We are losing the best prop in the game imo in AFB but I think we are gaining much more team harmony and leadership with Fish.
Something was off with AFBs attitude last year and I can’t help feeling that affected the team.

I hope so eh... was an interesting experiment to go back and watch the round 1 match against the sharks from last year... almost everything that went wrong with the season is encapsulated in that game ... got off to a flyer, went soft over the middle period when our starting forwards are rotated .. some absolutely terrible officiating (in some cases I was asking whether they even know how to apply the rules - hope the nrl sorts out its 'directives'), then inconvenient injuries to key personnel which mainly came about from over extending some otherwise excellent work, strange use of interchange (maybe as a result of the injury disruptions?), tension between the players obvious at some points during the game (frustration at the blunt, ineffective finishing - while the general shape is ok so often the last pass or decision is poorly done) ... none of that should have had such a massive effect, and we really should have won that game, that we didn't I think is a testament to whatever was going on in the culture of the team at the time
