I know people are going to be fuming, but to be honest that was largely the worst case scenario.

Nothing planned our for us today.
Funnily enough, if you look at the stats at the moment and of the game, things were largely 50/50 across the board. We were no better or worse in run meters, completed sets, kicks etc but there were a few key areas we fucked up imo
-Charnz had a shocker.
-LM's kicking was poor and gave us no chance to compete.
-Bench use was poor. We were clearly tired at one point but no changes. Leka and Vaumunga looked good, they would have looked great 30 minutes in...
-zero go forward. Anyone doubting us requiring someone like Hazleton or a big guy can fuck off. Fish, Ford and Barnett had very little impact early on, that's just too small a front row.

For me, we were pretty much dog shit, with taken very very poor performances. The good news is we have so much upside and things to improve.

We essentially had 3 tries (Starling break, 90m Savage intercept and CNK dropped ball) gifted to them. 3 tries were 1 poor errors cost us 18 points.

We certainly werent good enough today but man, I can't believe the wanking off of the Raiders by the commentators.

The early exchanges were disappointing. Webster said the changes were made as we wanted to take them on through the middle. They were up for that challenge.

When it was set for set we were hitting it up through our outsides and they were using their forwards.

Does anyone have any theories on what the hell happened to Niukore?

Seriously - bloke is massive, but can't put on a hit and struggles to get any post contact metres. Deadset softie.
Yeah, he was NEVER the player that his pay packet suggested.

Go watch the Paramata GF and you’ll see. He did absolutely nothing….
Congrats to him for taking us for a skate though. Credit where it’s due.

I’m not interested in his SJ 2023 season

After one game I can pick out 3 things that need to happen immediately for the sake of the club.

Adam Pompey should not see first grade again.

He offers nothing in any area.

For years our edge has suffered from poor defence, I’ve seen different edge forwards and wingers take the blame. The reason that edge has been poor is Pompey.

I’d be happy to explain further for those who want it.

His attack is shocking, he’s slow, has poor decision making on both sides of the ball.

And finally, we need to realise we have 4 players on our bench.
Ahhhhh maybe that's the problem, since Webbys an Aussie he can only count to 2

I’d be lying if I don’t have words for that display. CHT is not a 1st grade half’s asshole. TMM offers way more. Defence gave me Titans vibes from last season at times!

Catch and pass crap and long floater from Metcalfe to Tuapiki summed up the piss poor game management of our halves. We had them for numbers took the short cut and failed!

Draw and pass, taught that as a kid! Gonna be a long year.

Slowest side in the NRL and beginning to think Webster will be a one hit wonder. Everything went right first season back home. CNK still at fullback, been found out today.

No changes in starting line up except for new recruits.

I don’t get Jackson Ford, runs like he has cement boots on. Missed AFB’s 220 metres. Niukore massive flop. Walker looked the most dangerous in attack by a long stretch.

Webster will make excuses & say they deserve redemption & won’t make any changes, if any he probably drops Leka and Demetric for Ale and Bunty, and brings Kosi in for Tuapiki.

Only positive for me is I didn’t dispense with $20k to watch this nothing performance!

We’ve got no halves

hey Frankie
I quoted earlier I give Cuddles Webster 6 games
He now has 5
No attack as last year!
Here’s the thing, you can win games with average halves, if you make smart decisions. Webby is making atrocious ones.

I said last season that it seems Webby has a game blueprint that must be adhered to, regardless of the players ability. He’s obsessed with this grinding, tactical footy that we simply don’t have the cattle for.

We certainly werent good enough today but man, I can't believe the wanking off of the Raiders by the commentators.
Well, the Raiders have had a habit of sticking around and making the Finals most years when they've been written off in the pre-season by "The Experts", so that commands a certain amount of respect, however you feel about Sticky.
Todays result, folks, is why I have - and those of us who don't, should - a Second Team in every competition I follow.
The Raiders are my Second Team in the NRL, so while I'm not happy, I'm not overly pissed off or despondant. I know, I know, married to v cheating with, but hey, they don't know.
Now, if that had been against the Storm, Sea Eagles or Tigers I'd be very pissed off.
