Taine is a great player , but kick returns he lacks and tbf I see him getting out jumped often.

When Dal is Back CNK can play centre.

Another question: if Pompey is injured (I can't see how he is, all the vlogs etc shows him moving freely without any strapping etc.) would you rather TMM at FB with CNK to centre or a straight swap with EIT to centre?

The EIT left on the extended bench is a strange one. For mine, he is too raw to be starting Round 1. With him not being cut, it should suggest that there is some possibility that he may play Centre. Although he is fairly versatile (i think he played prop in NSW cup too?). But back to the point, he is too raw.

I would go for TMM at FB with CNK to Centre. I dont think such a move does anything for the long term stability for the team though as we are moving a first choice player from his position to plug a gap, rather than plugging a gap from the reserves. Hence why i think EIT is still there.

We have a fair idea of what CHT and Metcalf will bring to the halves, we have a fair idea what CNK will bring at centre, the main unknown is TMM at fullback but he has played there before. With RTS to wing, Ali bought in to centre and the two young forwards on the bench it would address nearly every issue we had last season. Just a thought.

If Pompey is out, we could play CNK at back for defence and kick return and play TMM at fullback after tackle 1/2 in the attacking half. Would help out our half’s and TMM looks better in attack when he roams the whole field rather than one side, plus offers way more than CNK in attack

At his best CNK is the same level high quality player whatever the position.
TMM is too good to leave out.
