He’s a consummate professional. We are lucky to have him
I find it fascinating the declaration they evaluate their matchup with their opposite and him admitting he lost.

Phycologically isn’t this soul destroying if many weeks you find yourself losing to your opposite. Confidence destruction and leads into a downward spiral. Isn’t it just better to focus on your own performance?

Sometimes I think we need more cockiness and arrogance in our play and attitude.

Well, if you say your performance was good, it stands to reason you were better than your opposite and did your job.
You judge your performance against your opponent and then against your previous performances.
As it's Round 1, it's just against your opponent.
I don't mind RTS being loud and public about saying he lost. He knows it. AW probably knows. The Raiders certainly know it.
Only issue, using the "Flush The Dunny" analogy, is if the toilet's blocked and we don't have a plunger...

Another expertly written article, identifying EVERYTHING we’ve said. If we can see it, the media can see it, other players & former players see it, then how the fuck do the coaches who spent every day at the club not fucking see it?

It’s actually mind boggling the persistence with niukore & Capewell imo. Especially, especialllly when they’ve got young gun edges pushing their case admirably.
coach Andrew Webster made a strange selection move for the opening game of the season by starting Jackson Ford as a middle forward. Ford played the first 50:39mins and in this period Raiders scored four tries to the one try for NZW. ....

yes please explain Webby ????

I think maybe Webbys bench use was the biggest grind. Similar head scratching decisions like last year.
we need a please explain WEBBY woeful last season .. forget the trails playing B-C sides ...first FG pretty much like the woeful crap from 24.. WTF we get pumped by Manly surely the knifes will be out

I know I'm in the minority here but I'd rather we stick with him through his contract regardless of this year going well. There is no one else on the market who is any good and the surrounding staff are doing an even worse job imo. Shafting him would grantee another few years of shit results.

Don't think you are in the minority as at the moment I am still in the keep Webster camp. If the next 5 weeks is the same shit then I will be asking why we haven't called Brad Arthur. I am starting to have the feeling though that Webster might be a coach that is not very adaptable. If it is kick to the corners and defend poorly with the same easily read block plays I just might go fucking crazy.

Definitely in the Keep Webster camp.
But certainly a concern if he's a "I have Plan A, but if the team can't enforce Plan A on the opposition by dominating them, um, er...Ah...." kind of guy. Absolutely every team is more comfortable with A than with B, but they should be comfortable enough working with Plan B.
Asking questions about everyone else in the coaching ranks. Not quite there, but getting closer to the "Stacey, what the eff is it you actually contribute to Webby, here?" stage.
And it seems LM has inherited the "was SJ a lazy bastard or were the forwards lazy bastards today?" argument after 2 Pre-Season Games and 1 NRL Game.

That swap with Clark and Ford didn't work. Hopefully we don't see it again this week. Clark was adding some sting around the ruck in the trials. His leg speed would have been nice to have at the start of the game.

I know Webster has said Ford has a big motor and plays better the longer he is on. When he said that he was playing on an edge. Those minutes are too long when he is starting. He should be doing a stint while the starters are off or if he is going to play longer it should be the middle portion not the start.
