I like the spark Healey provides but is anyone worried about his passing? Or do you think it's just a matter of getting used to the team?
Yeah, a bit of both I think - that first 40/20 metcalf kicked he was waiting for it about 10 metres back from the ruck and Healey just about didn't throw it as a little confused due to the deep positioning ... so there's that communication factor but his technique is a little suspect too probably because of his mechanics being taller than your ave dummy half

Yeah, I noticed the accuracy of a few of his passes from dummy half, which you would expect to be fairly fundamental for him, were behind the player. Hoping it's just lack of initial team cohesion and it improves. His running game threat seems to have sparked Egan into lifting his a little bit too.

Hopefully trials and practice has sorted out any problems with positional issues.
That's why trials are so important imo

I remember the concerns around Egans passing when he signed up too. Healey is young, I wouldn't be concerned just yet.

Who thinks TMM to fullback is a game day change? And if so, do you think that is something they have been working on in preseason with a view to implementing it for the season?
Unless its to move CNK to Centre/Wing i cannot see TMM being a first choice FB in Webster's team that they have been working on in the preseason. His versatility is quite useful and probably a good 18 to have for match day squads.

Everything in the media points to CNK remaining at the back as named - that's part of the ruse tho right? I'm a fan of the idea of getting TMM in there and I liked how it looked with him at the back ... yet we probably lose too much in return metres with DWZ out already to not have CNK in the back 3 as well ... sooo, does TMM come in on the bench? well, that makes less sense ... I don't know man, it's a long shot ... i'd be for it if it happens

Ok, here is a theory. The coaching staff have identified that we need different points of attack. AW has said our attack will look much different from last season. Metcalf said after the first preseason game that they hadn't shown what they had been working on and that we will see the spine turning up on different sides of the field. In that first game the alternative 6's were injured. In the second game CNK was playing for the māori (at centre and has played for the kiwis there too?) and TT as well until called back with the DWZ injury. A great way to run the spine against another opposition without revealing the plan for round 1 and the season. It would be outside the box thinking, quite innovative, gives us a very versatile team make up and more threats across the park. It does kind of go against my thoughts of AW being very conservative though. So, genius move tomorrow or same old, same old?

Another question: if Pompey is injured (I can't see how he is, all the vlogs etc shows him moving freely without any strapping etc.) would you rather TMM at FB with CNK to centre or a straight swap with EIT to centre?
