TeamList Preseason 2025 Trial 1 - Warriors vs Sharks

One other thing form me. I would have loved Ali to start on the left so he was paired with RTS. It would worry me defensively which is why Pompey is likely there. When on attack though it gives us a left edge that would trouble teams.
Typically your strongest attacking plays are down the right and he’s an attacking threat that can be used on set plays.

Actually going to have to agree. Just checked and last year in his NRL games the only time he didn't play on the right was when CNK played in the Centres. That will make it interesting when Berry returns as he was always favoured on the right.

Thought Leiataua and TMM struck up a great combination on the right from the games in nsw cup that TMM played, and then in that panthers game. Will be interesting to see if Metcalf and Leiataua can build a strong combination, super threatening attacking right side though with Metcalf, Leiataua and DWZ, does need a strong second rower as bodyguard though I reckon

I never knew either mate and I’m a day one as well lol.
No, I don't wanna watch the bloody Warriors!
Always goin' on, they gonna win the Premiership!
JUS' SHADDUP!

As I recall RTS's opening lines from the Facebook skit he and little bro JTS made in 2018. Before he became Genuine Day One..

And it's Bad Mutcher. I think that sounds much better and describes what he does more accurately.

Just looking at why Zyon Maiu’u was released and our interest in strengthening our outside backs, wonder if that’s why the likes of MGT and Kali feature so highly on the bench? I know all reserves are able to be used but we could be seeing if either of these two or Amituanai can fill the position? Is Pasikala injured at the moment?

I hope Metcalf can form a good combination with them. That is my biggest concern with Metcalf, whether he can provide the ball playing and creativity to get us enough points. Hopefully he shows us a good attacking output with the majority of ball he will get. I prefer TMM and Metcalf being switched around for that reason because I feel we get a better attacking return that way.

It does make that right edge vulnerable defensively. Left edge of RTS, Pompey, Capewell and TMM looks okish.

To be fair we didn’t get much of a sample with these two in the halves. TMM certainly looked best on the right, but was with either CNK or CHT on the left. Metcalf had 3 tries and 4 try assists over 7 games so definitely a threat

Simply LM is not a 7 and also TMM's not a 6

Yes and Metcalf had those stats with SJ dominating the play and possession. Lets see if he can increase those with more ball and the added responsibility of leading the team around

I reckon Metcalf will go good at 7. He played there coming through the pathways age grades and stared for the junior NSW team there. It’s not like it’s a completely new position to him. Hopefully his long kicking game has been a point of emphasis over the pre-season.
