Think about your typical double lead-run play, The players are running to the corner post. he can't step off his left foot running in an arc right, but you can running left. (I hope that makes sense, you can go outside and try this) I've played both sides plenty and I can tell you my only preference was what ever shoulder wasn't fuckedMakes a big difference.
His left foot step on the right wing will allow him to beat players by stepping towards the sideline.
On the left wing he will be stepping back in field and potentially engaging with the cover defenders drifting wide.
