The waka jumping bill or more accurately how politicians view it signifies politics to me.Darleen Tana was a Green Party list MP, list MP's shouldn't be able to stay in Parliament when they are no longer members of the Party that they piggy backed their way into the tax payer funded "trough".
They don't like their MP leaving but when it is someone else's they are happy about it especially if it helps their voting numbers.
Like a lot of decisions in NZ politics it is short sighted.
If you get voted in from your electorate you should be entitled to stay in. If you are a list MP you should be removed and the party able to replace you to maintain their proportion of the vote.
