General Your 2025 team

Mix between To’o and Turuva maybe, he’s quite evasive and strong in contact. Has pace not top tier pace tho
He’s a lot more skilled with ball in hand than either of them and not as widely set as them either.

He’s a hard comparison.

But yeah you’re right he doesn’t have top end speed, only the explosiveness over the first 20m

Well I’ve spent all off season reading everyone’s thoughts and all things considered I think this is the lineup that’s probably making the most sense to me-

Cnk
Dwz
Berry
Ali
Rts
Tmm
Metcalf

Jfh
Egan
Barnett
Capewell
Leka
Clarke

Cht
Demitric Vaimauga
Nuikore
Walker
Who is your goal kicker? Metcalf?

If we are closer to the opposition line at the start of our sets we should score more points than if we are further away.
That might not be as true if you can score long range tries but we can't so it is truer for us than anybody else
From memory, we were top 3 at starting our sets closer to the opposition line last season. I will find the stats to confirm.
We seemed to have one of the best field positions in the competition but could not finish and score the points to actually take advantage of it.

Take AFB out of the side and we are going to find it harder to gain the same field position imo.

This article is a good read alluding to what I said.

That's a possibility. It's also possible we get a better spread of output from our players. I take some comfort from our two best wins last season, the Panthers and Dolphins, were games AFB had a small contribution in the first and then none in the second.
I hope so too but just going by my eye test AFB just started our roll ons with post contact metres, late footwork and quick play the balls.
But I hope Webby has a plan to spread out the work like you say 🤞🏽

Yes I agree, we won those games off superior kicking metres. So we can win without AFB but only if we have a metre kicker.
