I am leaning towards a no on Menzies as I wanted it to be top level international touch - over 50s or juniors is not top flight. I already said no to collegiate level professional sport as well.
I dont have an issue with that, was only going by this

"Yes it counts. If you played International touch."

A World Cup in whatever form where Australia play New Zealand constitutes an International in my books.....that said ill go with your ruling.

However your taking the piss if you think Manu Vatuvei and Paul Gallen is top flight boxing :D

That's a good point - if you are challenging Paul Gallen and Manu Vatuvei I will take a look. Please let me know if you want to challenge.

Paul Gallen:

Paul Gallen’s boxing career was professional, but not at the very top level of the sport. He primarily competed in bouts that gained attention due to his rugby league fame and his ability to draw crowds. While he faced some legitimate boxers, his level of competition generally fell short of elite, world-title-contending fighters.
  • Notable Opponents:
    • Lucas Browne: A former heavyweight world champion, though past his prime when he fought Gallen. Gallen won convincingly, which was a highlight of his boxing career.
    • Kris Terzievski: A skilled Australian heavyweight, but not a global contender. Gallen lost to Terzievski, which indicated his limitations at the highest levels of professional boxing.
  • Summary: Gallen was a strong competitor in Australian heavyweight boxing but did not compete at the global elite level.

Manu Vatuvei:

Manu Vatuvei’s boxing career was professional, but it was even less prominent than Paul Gallen’s. His bouts were more novelty or exhibition-style in nature, often involving other former athletes rather than established professional boxers.
  • Notable Opponent:
    • Dave Letele: Vatuvei's debut fight was against another former rugby league player rather than a seasoned boxer, which reflects the level of competition he faced.
  • Summary: Vatuvei’s boxing was professional in format but more in the realm of celebrity or crossover matches. He did not face top-tier professional boxers.

Conclusion:

  • Paul Gallen: Competitive at a respectable professional level in Australian boxing but not at the global elite.
  • Manu Vatuvei: Professional but primarily limited to novelty or crossover matches rather than top-level boxing.

4o

I am going to rule out Manu

Can I get some second opinions on Gallen please?

Professional boxing is professional boxing. As a former touch player myself, it’s a recreational activity in the same class as darts, pool and synchronised swimming 😉
Ha not everyone plays sport just to get on the piss after ;)

And Luke Littler just earned 2.3mill last year.....which pisses all over kalyn Ponga as the highest paid NRL player.....not bad for a chubby fat kid who plays in a sport u never have to raise a sweat in :D

Next we will claim porn stars are elite athletes as well.

Nah, they just get paid to entertain us but it’s not sport 🤣
