Indeed. Today was a setback to our top 2 aspirations especially as the Raiders won yesterday.

We should be finishing top 4 at the end of the season depending on injuries. We have a pretty good run home and would have to drop a lot of easier games to drop out of the 4. It's possible but we should be aiming high.

I am still hopeful for top 2 and it means next weeks game in Brisbane is no longer one we can afford to lose. It's going to be tough but we can do it (a lot will depend on how bad certain injuries are and whether Metcalf is fit).

6 more wins should put us atleast 4th and all of the games are quite winnable if they stay focused

I had us down to should win the game but a lot of the pre match korero on here where pretty much all we had to do was turn up and the Panthers were going to automatically roll over was a little ludicrous tbh.

You;d think peeps should know this competition well enough now that u can be the in form favourite against the lowliest team, but if their up for it and your off your game even slightly u will get burned.....let alone against the reigning Premieres

Top 2 is unlikely. Raiders have a easier draw and most likely will be minor prems unless they choke. I think Dogs will finish 2nd. I can see us finishing 4 behind Storm though. However, having said that this is the NRL and no game is easy especailly with the way we play. Looking at the schedule our "hard" games are Bulldogs, Broncos and Dolphins, but that doesn't mean the Titans and Wests won't show up. Next week's game is crucial for momentum, cannot drop 2 going into a bye and then risk coming out sluggish like in the past.

Penrith are still the reigning Prems and as long as they have their Origin core of Edwards, To'O, Cleary, Yeo and Martin I'm not writing them off. They have a great shot at getting number 5 and I actually see them as serious contenders despite their positioning on the ladder. I wouldn't want to see them in the playoffs.

And thats why im fairly confident we'll bounce back from this "glitch" as i dont think this loss was down to poor attitude or effort..... u could see we were trying.......we just didnt execute well enough and the Panthers played well.......those areas are easy enough to address.....attitude and effort not so much

The next game will be telling. If we put on another performance like today then sliding out if the 8 is a real possibility.

We need to bounce back and improve, even if we lose. If we give up and get given a hiding then the warning signs are there.

Raiders for sure look like finishing top 2. I don't think the Dogs will be in the top 2. I think the Storm or us are more likely. Depends on how the Dogs do in the next 3 games with a run of difficult teams.

The fact the Storm won by 1 point last night is not ideal.

I don't think it really matters what the media say mate. And if any of them are using last nights game as justification for us not being top 4 material they are stupid. No team in the NRL would have won that game in our situation last night. Webby and the boys won't let this get to them. They will regroup, wait on the injury situation of a few players and prepare for next week.

DWZ will definitely be out but hopefully Berry is back. Metcalf may be touch and go. Niukore will most likely have the week off after concussion. It's going to be bloody tough to beat the Broncos in Brisbane with the amount of outs we have but if we can win it will be massive for us.
