Team List Redcliffe Dolphins v NZ Warriors - [Round 8, 2026]

I think while in NSW cup and likely this year at a NRL level. He has been told to nail down the 1% percenters first. And iron out a lot of his defensive issues. To which he has been showing quite a bit of improvment. Where he is already missing a quite a few less tackles than he was with the titans. Plus seems to be quite chatty on defense now. I don't think people should be expecting the same level of attacking upside he has had at the titans this year reguardless of his center. It's just not the focus.
Interesting run down.

Don't disagree with AKP's priorities.

But the team style, the game plan, is moving towards trying to have more adventurous attack this season.

Still, at the end of the day, Webster chose RTS over Pompey, fundamentally my bias is to defer to the coach rather than push this...my own barrow any further.

If we run out next year with two serviceable centers sitting in NSW cup I will be finally satisfied that the short sighted Warriors of old are dead and buried.

Center is as we all know the most important defensive position in a rugby league team when full width attack is launched against you - these guys are the freaking Knights on a Chess board.

It shits me that this club hasn't understood that fundamental of this sport since Dean Bell.

The thing that really shits me, is that there are two of them! the maths is really straight forward, you need four players to cover those two spots - and if you respect and understand the role of a center (my real gripe with Warrior mindedness) then you bloody well have two genuine top centers with two tradesmen in reserve at all times!

If I get what I want, we would have Ali Leiatua sorted for one slot, the club would sign another exciting Junior on the cusp Center, and we would see Pompey and Anderson as their cover.

This is why I wasn't bummed out when we signed Anderson, because we need an Anderson plus one strategy - not no Anderson and window shopping for birds in the bush.

You see no future for Rocco at this club?

Jayden Campbell gave me the impression on the weekend he just didn’t want to be there. He looked cold and didn’t have his normal impact at all. Kini was the heart and soul or I think we could have gone to town but his jumping up pumped up after a couple of carries that saw him smashed pumped them up a bit I reckon. Farnsworth will be used to it but some of the other guys might be a bit like Campbell
Jc prob carrying an injury and with Brimson out had to play

I would like to see CNK off this season and have an arrival announced but I'm also realistic that he will still be here next season.
For the last 18 months or so I have been hoping he becomes injury free and rediscovers some speed.
But he is not going to and IMO he is too slow for the position now.

I'm still tempering my expectations of AKP. He is likely to have a clanger or two coming if you look at his past career. Obviously we hope that his growth since being with our club ("Webby value-added" I'm coining it) means there is much more in the positive column than the negative, but I do feel some fans are setting themselves up for a fall.

He's had a great start, fingers crossed he goes from strength to strength.

This weekend will be tough. Man I wish Farnworth was on our roster.

He set up Lofi twice on the weekend with good tap ons, Pompey is over rated on here in almost every asset of play, his distribution isn’t that good.
There are many factors to RTS and his previous performances at center. Not limited to but including coming back from Union, not having played in the front line for a number of seasons, being shuffled around in the team due to injuries, having an unsettled wing partner (was Montoya outside him?) ergo, not a great historical comparison and only two games in to a combination that we aren't accustomed to at the Warriors,

In the Storm game I didn't think RTS made wrong decisions not to pass. In the latest game I think the combinations started forming and also against a weaker defensive line perhaps. The other factor we haven't had for a very long time is a genuine winger with elite pace and how we can use him. For example instead of RTS trying to pick up the bouncing ball and knocking on, the other option available to us is toeing the ball on and seeing AKP use his speed. Perhaps even some kicking from the scrum or when the fullback is stuck in the line after making a tackle.

Give it time and lets see how it unfolds. Last week was exciting to see though with attacking threats on both wings.

Entirely in the hands of fate now.

Dunno if he can come back from the shoulder issues, the way it popped on him twice just by landing on the ground....you gotta wonder.
Could be a good opportunity for the club, he won’t command a salary he is probably worth, and it’s probably best for him to spend a year in nsw cup to strengthen the joint, 150k to be 4th in line centre with the form we know he can bring is good to have
