Team List Redcliffe Dolphins v NZ Warriors - [Round 8, 2026]

AKP scored more in 2 games on the wing outside roger, than roger has all season outside of pompey.
I'm all for the RTS/AKP combo to continue but something to take into consideration is that that combo has been lucky enough to have CHT inside them on both occassions where as Pompey/RTS have 89 minutes alongside CHT. Also, AKP's finishing is on another level to RTS so Roger is highly unlikely to have scored had he been in the same situation as AKP's second try last Saturday

I wouldn't mind Melbourne for our ANZAC day opponents, but they'd have to agree to the 'home and away' every year, that's only way it would work if we were to set up a 'rivalry', no club is going to give up an ANZAC home game every year as we did with the Storm.

Or, if the NRL wants an ANZAC game in every major (club) city, then it would probably be against a different Sydney club every year?

i think Pompey is a great club man, generally reliable and rarely lets the team down, pre-suspension he wasnt setting the world on fire and we had 2 bad losses in a row.. i think it is totally reasonable that he doesnt come straight back in. Our left scored against the chooks round one.

Chitty got two in combination with Roger. Roger caught one in traffic and offloaded to Capewah who in turn got it to........... Pompey who stepped Nawaqanitawase to score. On that same left side Tanah got the first try of the season. Chitty out Capewah through untouched.

Game two. On the left. Leka got two. Pompey was outside him.

I'm not saying that I demand Pompey back but it's not like he's cost us repeatedly. Just the jersey grab against Broncos and the sinbin that got him in prison.

There was the raiders game in front of kicker that lost us the HT lead and this year tackling the winger who caught the ball on the full in goal then they scored 3 in a row 😂

It’s like an annual event of Pompey brain fart 😂

Still I can remember his side step followed by another as he scored against tigers after Fish offload. He's not all errors and greedy with the ball. He's made some great offloads in traffic for Dallin too. But yeah

If we run out next year with two serviceable centers sitting in NSW cup I will be finally satisfied that the short sighted Warriors of old are dead and buried.

Center is as we all know the most important defensive position in a rugby league team when full width attack is launched against you - these guys are the freaking Knights on a Chess board.

It shits me that this club hasn't understood that fundamental of this sport since Dean Bell.

The thing that really shits me, is that there are two of them! the maths is really straight forward, you need four players to cover those two spots - and if you respect and understand the role of a center (my real gripe with Warrior mindedness) then you bloody well have two genuine top centers with two tradesmen in reserve at all times!

If I get what I want, we would have Ali Leiatua sorted for one slot, the club would sign another exciting Junior on the cusp Center, and we would see Pompey and Anderson as their cover.

This is why I wasn't bummed out when we signed Anderson, because we need an Anderson plus one strategy - not no Anderson and window shopping for birds in the bush.
They have also been unlucky.....Hurrell and Laumape would for sure be our most talented young centre duo.....it didn't work out for different reasons but damn in terms of pure talent coming through at the same time, there's not many better than that.

Why have we not set up a ANZAC day rival team? Storm have moved to make the Bunnies their annual clash . Moving it round the country and chopping and changing teams makes it feel less special I reckon.
Agreed. A home game in Wellington against the Dolphins every ANZAC Day would be special

For many years we have had shocking edge defense, the last few weeks have been so nice not having the feeling of doom as soon as someone goes wide against us. A lot of messaging coming out about how it's the benefit of inside pressure and drifting across.
Could this be the real hidden gem behind Leka and Laban with their high fitness levels and mobility?
Leka has been huge in that regard the last couple of weeks. He is pushing out really hard. It takes some of the energy away from his offensive game but the defensive line looks so stable

The beauty of that scenario is that we have attacking options on the right through Boyd, Leiataua, Laban (Niukore lead runner), Dallin.

Then we have middle strike with our props and lock all scoring tries this year.

Then both of our halves have been scoring tries as well.
