I don’t think we should be questioning the hunger of guys like SJ and Tohu. They want to win a prem for this club more than anyone else on the planet.

It’s just that both have been battling chronic injuries that have impacted their training and performance all year. At that age, being on limited training takes an edge off your game, and playing through pain is unsettling. We saw what these guys could do when fully fit last year; this year they just haven’t been fully fit.

If they didn’t have the hunger they would likely have pulled up stumps by now, or taken extended rehab periods rather than fighting on.
Personally I haven’t questioned their hunger, just their performance. If injuries have been hampering them all year, you have to ask the question - why have they been playing? We have more than adequate replacements.

Or AFB running for 40 odd metres, a million dollar prop. Just a weak attitude across the board that wasn’t there this week for whatever reason. Out of interest, where do see TMM’s robotic remark directed after the game?
Blair and co interviewed both TMM and CTH together after the game and they mentioned that Webby had relaxed his robotic approach, allowing them to play what's in front of them.

He’s heading the Tohu direction fast. While I love him using his body like a battering ram, all those knocks and hits on the body are finally taking its toll on him.

The same can be said about Egan. These guys have given great service to the team and club. Forever grateful but Father Time is now collecting early on due debts.
Chanz needs to replace Roger at right centre. He seems to have lost a metre or two of pace and is better suited there.

Its pretty common for clubs to do this with the top echelon of players in their squad. A few that immediately come to mind this season are Munster, Moses, Addo-Carr, Flegler and Tedesco.

It’s not just the halves play. It’s the 1 percenters that SJ/Tofu aren’t up to doing.

That try that CHT stole, he came from nowhere, ball hawking and sprinted in and got his hand on it. HUNGER & SPEED. Which is exactly what @Beastmode is saying the older guys are lacking. Which is 100% true.
He's prob my favourite in the team ATM, just seems to get to the right spot - he's a talented guy, and am enjoying his return

Hard to please most. After last weeks absolute pooh performance we looked as good as side in the comp 1st 20. Problem this year is keeping that level for 80 mins.

TMM and Barnett were standouts and CHT showed amazing commitment to get to that ball. Both halves defend with aggression. Still need to replace Montoya and Ford IMO.

Must squeeze Taine and Sifakula or Laban into the 17. I’d push CNK to centre, RTS to wing and Taine fullback. Rocco comes in for unfortunate Pompey.

I think that’s iron will and dedication.

Playing on injured to the detriment of the team doesn’t scream desire to win to me.

I was going to mention CHT until I checked and was reminded that CNK was the halves partner in the first win.

CHT is 6-3-1, in all games this season* and 3-0-0 when starting at five-eighth.

* Edit: added minutes played to get a better picture how much involvement CHT had.
* Edit again: added minutes for the other halves.

True. I'll give him close to an extra win too with the 71mins at 6 v Newcastle.

TMM and Walker at 6 last year was horrific (but many other factors to that).

CHT at 6 just looks so natural

I just don't understand what has happened to Shaun. and that is not a call for everyone to make posts pointing out he is getting old etc as I have read all your posts, but none of it adds up.
