All that to say I’d accept Ngani on a cheaper contract as depth for injuries, but not as a marquee signing we’d slot straight in at the expense of the Ali/MGT/Berry, who are younger and if they develop will give us many years ahead.
I like the idea of signing him but based off of the younger version.

As you say, adding him to a depth of Ali/Berry/MGT/Pompey/RTS/CNK at a pinch isn't what we need.

Need another decent impact prop off the bench and halves depth, maybe a fast wing, before anything else.

Thoughts on Hopgood for 2026 to replace Tohu? Would probably command the same type of money to get him over here, and there's no certainty that Walker retires here/re-signs. Has also worked with Webby at Penrith,
He's good, not sure we will get him though. Too young and established

Have the best crop of young centres we've had in a while, and 5'7 is far too short for a modern winger. Perhaps a Talakai-esque role off the bench

Love Ngani, Always remember my Under 13s team went to Eden Park when we smashed the Raiders- He and SJ tore them a new one lol
Any chance they’d play him somewhere other that centre? Only 5 foot 7 but 102kg

Do we think RTS is going to see out his contract? Just speculating, nothing to substantiate the thought, adding 1 + 1 and getting 437. Just wonder if his return isn't what he was hoping or thinking it would be. Supposed to play center but hasn't worked out and has been moved around through necessity. At times hasn't looked happy, a bit frustrated. Add the fall off in team results. The lure of money and less pressure in Japan must be tempting. With the Ngani post, would it be a stretch to see RTS leave at the end of the year and him to replace his position in the 30?
Would we be happy if that happened?

Been thinking the exact same thing with him going to Japan.
I think if he was at FB this whole time adjusting back to league he would be back to when he left.
In hindsight this centre thing has been a failure and a logjam at FB has added to the situation.
I would be happy to release Rog if he wants to make some coin or we give him the 1 jersey next year.

Been a big fan of Ngani but that ship has sailed.Dont want us to go down the Roger path again.
Think RTS was a wonderful player but only at FB & now past his best.
Likely to find Laumapi the same situation.

Only thing is Ngani will be 32 next year. If we sign him on 1 year deals and reassess each year on limited coin wouldn't be bad would it? And that would only be if RTS does move on.

Selestino Ravutaumada is in the Fijian Sevens squad in Paris.
He's grown into a beast by the looks.
He is really a weapon in sevens. Put on some kgs and kept pace and elusiveness. Was a real standout for Fiji, if not one of their main strike players which says a lot playing for Fiji. Good on him, he’s doing well. Super rugby, and Rugby sevens aren’t lucrative contracts so I’m sure he will get a big payday sooner or later. Rather spend money on him than an aging Ngani.
