Ya I am wondering if his kicking leg can or should take on all the workload next year coming back from a serious injury. I thought Boyd played really well in the weekend and showed his wheels with that line break. Main issue was red zone attack but was it him or our FB didn’t know when to pass, and CHT did a brain fart kick after his big run, that was 12 points butchered in a tight knock out game

He’s probably like a sexton and he’s got the gel part out of the way and if he has a fresh Egan or Healey, Metcalf and a playmaker fullback like TMM or TT, I am curious what that can do. CHT just doesn’t have it as a 7 or long kicking game

Yeah huge what if scenario. In theory, Tanah's game suits Webby's game plan quite well so it wouldn't be outside of the realms of possibility that Metcalf and Tanah could be 6 and 7, however I do think after the year that Chanel has had, he's easily the front runner.

I think Tanah next to Metcalf would be great to watch, as long as we have a few other key pieces in motion - I think you want Leka on Tanah's side, Rocco chasing those bombs and if he's got AKP on the wing there, he's got several attacking options on top of what Metcalf can do...
Could be as good as what CHT created this year

If the Warriors are to be a top 4 side, Tanah Boyd should be nowhere near the first choice 17. You have a reliable defender in CHT at 6 until one of the juniors demands selection, or something good comes onto the market.

Boyd is in that Schneider, Weaver, Volkman bracket of back up halves (albeit he has 78 NRL games against his name)

We have a 67% winning record with Metcalf over the 3 seasons and 27 games he’s played for us, I think we need to pay him what ever we need to keep him and think we’re in a good place salary cap wise to do so. I think Fish’s contract is stuffing us a lil bit being on 950k.
In saying that I definitely think there’s a high chance he’ll be at either the Dragons or eels next year. Auckland is such a shit place to live and I bet his misses will be in his ear over a move back
I doubt we are paying fisher harris 950k.

Why wouldn’t we be? We were paying afb that, if not more & he was a straight swap

The evolution of top NRL props commanding a Mil a season was a headline back in the Rugby League Weekly days...dunno why fans don't understand that a top five prop costs a million minimum and that all seventeen clubs will pay it gladly.

Million dollars for your top prop has been a thing for twenty years.

$900K is betwixt and between salary isn't it? To take it to an extreme, imagine paying someone $960K or $970K - the player would just be ticked off. I mean we have chiseled him beneath the landmark of $1m but only by $100,000 maybe if we just paid him $1M he would train harder and play better to prove he is worth $1m. Anyway if it is $900K I hope we use out $100K we saved wisely !!!!!!!!

What salary was JFH rumoured to be on at the Panthers? Having a Golden Boot on your CV can't hurt at negotiating time but seeing as he walked out of the Panthers early isn't there a rule that he can't have been paid more by us this season then he was going to receive at Penrith?

'Not all about the money, bro': Fisher-Harris happy to stay at Panthers

19 Aug 2023 — Panthers hitman Fisher-Harris earns around $970,000 a year, but expects to smash through the million-dollar mark as ratchet clauses kick in by ...

This is just a brief bit of an article that’s behind a paywall. Pretty sure he’s on the same money with us as he was at panthers
JFH certainly is on around 950-970 mark if the top 100 paid players article by codesports is true (it generally is on or about the mark). Warriors had 6 players in the list this year. From memory JFH, Niukore, Barnett, RTS were in the list. Roger was on around 650k and highest paid winger (prior year DWZ was the highest paid wimger - with his dogs contract hopefully subsidised). AFB was just over a mill.

Deducing we had lost Tohu, SJ, Wallker from the prior year (who all made last years top 100 list), and newcome Clark did not make the list can deduce we have a bit of cash to splurge, even taking into account upgrades for the new resignings of our young pups in the forwards.
