You said name a worse #7? I literally did.Haha ok
Aiden Sezar then SJ.
Thanks for proving my point

There’s been plenty like the tigers Sullivan dropped early in the season not to return. Townsend just dropped from cowboys. Jack Cogger picked up by knights from panthers and hasn’t seen much time in first grade. A bad season by SJ’s standards, but plenty worseHaha ok

But in fairness Dogs have Gould who has bought some vg players ie Crighton. Tbf Crighton probably has the opposite effect on a team to AFB.Agree with everything you say, I’m really starting to wonder about Webster, I’m thinking it was the Bulldogs who go the better coach.

I never said SJ has been good, quite the opposite. I just dispute the unders ball having such an extreme reaction.Name a 7 who’s team has dominated in Almost every single category each week and got his 7 in attacking position time and time again and has been worse than SJ this year?
Name a worse defensive 7 as well this year.

Theres friction there between AFB possibly SJ.
Aidan Sezer, Lachie Ilias, Tanah Boyd, Chad Townsend and Jackson Hastings have all been worse in my opinion. But still a significant fall from arguably best in the comp during last years regular season. No I’m sorry you’re right.
I don’t care to debate who’s got the better team around him but I’ll give it to you.
Aidan sezar and then SJ
Second worst 7 in the comp.
Yay
There’s also Tuaupiki, but it was interesting how in nsw cup earlier in the season he was the main kicking option from fullback. Could we be looking at a whole new system when or if he joins the team or was it because he was the better boot than Hansen or whoever was there at the time? Or could Tuaupiki transition to 6?I see Charnze and Roger as essentially the same (with Charnze the slightly better distributor, but still nowhere near the ball playing abilities of the new age fullback)......all effort (which cant be faulted) but you got to question the effectiveness of someone who just does a kazillion hit ups? Ive asked a thousand times should we really require our fullback to take multiple hit ups in a set? A return hit up sure.....but then surely it'd be more effective just having them sniffing around the ruck either A. Running support for any potential breaks or B. providing an option of an extra pass for our early set hit up merchants so the defence doesnt just soley focus on our one out runners (which Manly did to great effect last nite)......would rather they spend their energy doing that and then run their block shape lines once we're in the red zone.
Seems to be 2 schools of camp in styles of fullback atm. The all effort Charnze/RTS/Dylan Edwards/Teddy types, or the smaller extremely quck accelerating with half like ball playing skills - Reece Walsh, Papunhuzyen, Keano Kini, Keao Weekes, Drinkwater......the game tends to be evolving towards the latter and it seems once again we're left behind the 8 ball.
Just gonna put it out there tho i think we have a ready made player who has all those attributes even tho most of u want him in the 7 jersey next season.....and thats Luke Metcalf.....just think that speed from the back would give us another edge to the sword......and lets face it looking at what we've got on the books in the backline ......its a pretty blunt sword.
Theres the odd freak of nature fullback like Turbo who can do it all. Trell could as well if he ever bothered to put the effort in. In my opinion, CNK is significantly rather than slightly better than RTS at distributing, but he would still be below average in the NRL.I see Charnze and Roger as essentially the same (with Charnze the slightly better distributor, but still nowhere near the ball playing abilities of the new age fullback)......all effort (which cant be faulted) but you got to question the effectiveness of someone who just does a kazillion hit ups? Yeah look not knocking Charnze, he played a great under structure last season with those right hand sweeps.....but with all structure eventually they get worked out......opposition did that all year to us....and unfortunately our one dimensional players (and coaching plans it has to be said) had nothing else to fall back on....and it showed.Theres the odd freak of nature fullback like Turbo who can do it all. As I've said plenty of times, mediocre individuals will never understand it...Kinda lucky we've signed a 3 x champion, golden boot winning kiwi captain - who actually wants to be at the club.
Bit of a replacement for our alpha who has burnt out of three under performing NRL teams.
But yeah... we all need to watch the last dance to understand the complexity of AFB.
