Um, just no. His stats are padded with time at fullback and wing. He isn't even close to a game breaking centre. He runs terrible lines. Ali, Berry and Pompey have all been put in to gaps and scored tries from a TMM pass. He is not up to speed defensively or in attack as a centre. Is he the reason for our poor season. No he's not. He is certainly a part of it though. Incidentally, our best run of form was without him in the team. He isn't even one of our top 2 centres at the club. I doubt too many other teams would play him there
No dispute against him being played at centre but you could paint a similar regarding SJ in that period where we had some success. Only game SJ played in that period was a win over an under strength broncos. Even DWZ played at fullback against the dolphins so that period had us facing some adversity around selections

I really hope Webster has the answers for why we were so mud this year. To have so many players in career best form in his first year… to have so many players in career worst form.
Only Barnett has improved this year! Why?

Barney improved because he figured out life and got family and work balanced. Webby has had a hand in that.

Addin on the other hand appears to have been battling off field and stuff.

Also, we have had Tohu as an illustrious and decorated captain. SJ has captained. Marcelo has captained pre season. Barney has captained. Walker has captained. Not sure who else but I am not sure if Addin has led the team as captain. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) Dallin has captained his country. Roger......Roger has captained. Do we have too many leaders and not enough team guys?

I believe Addin captained Tonga so another captain in our team. I'm trying to get somewhere with this and will carry on when I know what it is.

Hope this helps 😁

I think that score flatters Manly
We were good for large parts of the game just couldn’t convert them into points

Our wingers are absolutely woeful. Montoya. Yeesh…. Bring back Kosi?!!!!!!! Hahahaha…. I’m kidding 👀

RTS … how bad is this guy at Center aye??? He doesn’t have a clue how to pass or set up his winger. Can’t even break through holes anymore
👍 It's not good viewing is it. Do we blow it up and have a clean out or are we fine tuning a number of components? Or what?

For sure. But, I'm replying to a post that paints RTS as a game breaking centre. I said he isn't the reason for our bad season, but as a part of it. You have no argument from me around SJ and others. (SJ didn't play in the broncos win)

I wrote on another forum that I read that Webby said RTS was a year away from being back at his best. He should've never learned a new position in first grade. Should've started in reserve grade to learn the positioning and all that. If he couldnt carve up down there then definitely not a centre. Which we have all seen this season. I will admit tho, he hasn't been consistently 1 position all year.
Geez, imaging the backlash if they'd kept Roger in cup to start the year, the sack webby thread would've been busy I bet

Not sure why people bag Webby for bench use, we had momentum towards HT and should have taken the lead but the handling was bad.

Ale, Sifakula, Jazz all got decent minutes and CHT replaced Lussick when he was stuffed

Like was he supposed to play another bench player? 😂

Pretty excited to see Ale and Sifakula combining with JFH next year. These games are just trial-trial games for next year we need as many minutes from the juniors to flush out their errors this yr
Muscle memory complaining from when he's left say Lussick on the bench and flogged Egan.

Then says Addin came off and that messed up the rotation. So yeah when he does ok we still are upset from 18 rounds ago

The microscope is on our halves, not Roger. Let’s be clear about that. Another pre season under webby, and I’d expect to see a more polished RTS (IF the halves execute on THEIR role, and create space for one of the best game breaking centres in the comp).
There is no way RTS can ever be called the best game breaking centres in the comp. This will come off harsh and is not intended as a personal insult but that is delusional thinking. If they gave him space he would not be fast enough to really take advantage and the guy just doesn't pass. He is flat footed on D and at times looks lost. Personally think we should cut our losses and only play him in NSW Cup until his contract ends.

I still need to see more of Tauapiki. His early season chances he got his timing in the sweep plays wasnt great but he definitely seemed to be more the fast feet create something from nothing type.....which is good.

I do think its criminal tho he wasnt given more gametime.....thats on the coach ,
He's not really a game breaking player but a small bloke with a big heart and takes hard hits hard runs and has pressure coping ability such as taking conversions to win games. I like him

I thought round 6 would tell us if he was a hit but he played as a Mr fix it all over the back line.

So I thought round 12. But nope he hadn't figured it out. At his age and speed I only see him as a back up fullback. Nowhere else on the field unless he wants to become a forward with Pompey and Ed Kosi...... that's supposed to be a sarcastic joke about the size shape and lack of speed in our backline
