Good point, I forgot about the team song situation. Reality will no doubt be that multiple things have contributed to this seasons shit show.
I’m really comfortable with him leaving. Remember when we got over the panthers with him and a young team and got over a top 4 at that time dolphins team without him and a young team also. Our best period of the season is when we trusted youth. They aren’t going to be consistent, but they give effort. It’s up to Webster now to incorporate the right amount of experience to go with the right amount of youth for next season

But geez as far as RTS at fullback goes, I think Webster got that 100% correct - no no no no no! I hope RTS realises his mistake & moves on to Japan in the off season
RTS had 8 tackle busts last night. CNK had 5 but it’s been his defence at the back lately that’s had me underwhelmed with CNK at the back. Last week against the dolphins he was the cause of one try not getting back in time to ground the ball that looked like he had ample time. He provided a try assist last night, which you’re unlikely to see from RTS but I think they’re actually similar players. Many of CNK’s 218 running metres was tucking the ball under his arm like RTS last night. Seibold said before the game that he was going to target the back 5 knowing they can be instrumental in our forwards having impact. Manly did that well with all back 5 making errors. I’d have RTS back at fullback next season

The ideal scenario would be a committed AFB plus the talented youth getting more opportunities. Don’t get me wrong, I rate JFH as one of the best possible replacements that we could have come up with, however in a team seriously lacking attacking options, I believe AFB is easily a more valuable on-field asset for us than what JFH will prove to be.

It’s not the tackle busts or running metres or even the occasional defensive play to dislodge the ball from the opposition player that concerns me with RTS. It’s everything else. If he plays fullback next year then write the season off already.

Egan is a real concern with his inability to avoid a head knock or pick up an injury in the game and his early form has fallen off a cliff. Lussick and Roache could see some serious minutes there next season?
Nah, Egan is still the superior player barring his defensive technique. I just think he needs to share minutes with Lussick i.e. either side of half time having 10-20 off.

I disagree. I’m hugely onboard with those saying what JFH will bring off the field is as valuable as on it. I am of the belief that AFB is the best prop in the game at present and because of that I have concerns about how his behaviour might rub off on players like Sifakula or Halasima who are sharing the field witnessing this behaviour. Last night after a Metcalf dropped ball he slammed the ball down in disgust while the rest of the team went over to pick him up. I can understand AFB’s frustration but that’s not a leader in my eyes. Barnett has been putting up consistent numbers like AFB but isn’t like a prima donna. I was of the opinion before that he’s going to leave a massive void but in watching Ale taking his opportunity and Sifakula almost a clone with his late footwork, I’m really optimistic of what JFH’s guidance can have. We’ve still got Zyon Maiu’u who isn’t progressing as fast, but certainly progressing and TSS also just behind

I’d say CNK in this seasons form next year then write the season off. He had a honeymoon period returning to the club last season but has regressed back to the form that had him playing reserve grade at the raiders. Watch Tedesco who’s in the old mould of fullback that RTS is. Still having huge impact trailing the plays in support. That’s what we need in RTS. Remember Walsh came here to learn fullback from RTS, Tuaupiki would do well learning and sharing the position with him

Another disappointment. Start with a hiss and roar, can't break over the try line like other teams would and then either last 40 make a miracle fall short comeback or get kicked to touch by the opposition.Trademark 2024 season by us.Im not going to bag certain players who are past their glory days we know who they are. Some don't fit in here and should move on or retire others should never have come.Yes like us all I hope the bulldogs game can inspire some to show that 2025 will be a better year. But back to last night.Kicking was poor and surely there has to be someone who has gas to burn opposition off waiting in the wings.Yea easy for me sitting with a beer and chips giving them all a mouthful.Just hope the last 2 games aren't duds.

Thank you. RTS has been a dud all season, he's old and slow, should spend the next two years in reserve grade.
He’s also returned from another code. Probably got too much respect to blood him into a new position in first grade all season but I’m not sure how people are expecting consistency when he’s played pretty well all back 5 positions at some point over the season

Teddy is doing well this season. Almost a resurgent one similar to SJ last year. Prior to that he had a couple of seasons of very average play.

CNK had a stellar year last year. Got injured and hasn't seemed the same. I think he is another that should have been given more time to recover and I am a little unsure why Taine didn't get more runs in the 1 jersey this year.

I'd back CNK to have a good off season and come back firing. Also needs to get some reps in with TMM and Metcalf.

I'm with Mr. Brownstone in that RTS should be our third fullback choice as cover there only next season.

Yeah agree with all that, that’s why I specified ‘on-field asset’

Roosters had a couple of lean years in general. Think Webster would have been better to follow Micheal Maguire’s template for the Kiwis last time RTS was in the jersey, RTS fullback and CNK centre. Just my view

I really felt for SJ last night. He's trying, but man that was one of the worst performances I've ever seen by him.
That over chase on Brooks was horrible. Multiple dropped balls and that horrible ball to Capewah cutting back in....just terrible.

It's always shit to see a star burn out

Those passes to no one on the edge where beyond pathetic..
