In the first half especially we'd create opportunities but could get the last pass. Usually because the ball carrier ran instead of moving it.

The left hand side didn't look too bad. Metcalf wasn't just running, he was moving the ball on. Like it was stated earlier he may need to straighten up a bit. Pompey may not be the most fashionable but he does his defensive work and passes to his winger when it is on and holds it when it isn't.
Yeah Charnze had an oppertunity to move it on the last when it looked like space which Dallin couldve got on the end of but chose to put it under the wng.....definite oppertunity there

We need a M rating for Meh…

SJ has completely lost his mojo.

you can see glimpses of Metcalf’s speed but there’s no one that can put him into space. He’d be a better fullback than what we’ve got unless RTS loses some weight.

Anyone notice that AFB stopped running in the last 10 minutes and just passed the ball every time he received it? Can’t really blame him tbh.

Our season was over before this game. People need to stop bagging SJ.

He's retiring. Just enjoying seeing him on the field. Yous won't get to soon. The Gary Freeman/Stacey Jones of his era. He's brought YOUS so much joy over the years.
Let's hope he gets to experience at least one more win before he retires. It is looking pretty tough. Hopefully next week at home.

I'd love to see him put someone through a hole at least one more time. The support running hasn't really been on all season for that.

He won’t get a winning send off unfortunately. 3 wins and a draw from the 13 games he’s played this year. Stats aren’t everything but that’s bleak reading.

That VB hard earned index at the end was for both teams right?

I'm pretty sure it listed all Warriors. Our middles did a lot of work a shame the execution around them was so poor.

Turns out when you leave a player out there for 70 minutes they beat someone that was only out there for 40 but had more impact.

Forwards went well. No issue with effort. You do not win games with that amount of errors, most unforced. Backs are going cross field and trying to execute from too deep. Manly just drifted across. All the Forwards went OK. SJ when confident plays into the line he is not confideny atm. Good signs from Metcalf. Next week RTS to wing and Ali to Centre give Sifakula more minutes.

No defence in our backline, and 6 errors in their 10m was the difference. Just a frustrating season, nothing is clicking and just when we look good, we fuck it up. Feels like the story of the past 3 months, if not entire season. Forwards are doing the job, just no clutch plays from any half, and then weak as fuck defense out wide. Will be nice to have Berry back, hope his shoulder is ok for pre season. Montoya, not sure what he offers anymore, he looks buggered. DWZ is all effort, but wouldn't be looking to extend his contract at all. SJ wasn't too bad, but 4 of those errors close to the line were through him, not good enough.

There's a few sad sacks on here tonight! Realistically the season's been gone for a long while.

DCE's a great player. A good thinker with an excellent boot. And a very different player to SJ. Some players are blessed with a largely injury-free career, and some are doomed from the outset (Nathaniel Roach). Despite starting at roughly the same time, DCE's body is still in great nick and SJs stopped being able to do what it used to 9 seasons ago. DCE has played 308 games of FG, SJ 265. That's nearly 2 seasons less.

SJ's body is done, but what a great player he has been, and I can't wait to see him sent off in style next week for finale 1 of 2.

As for tonight's game, I quite enjoyed it. I thought we had some more cause for optimism in 2025 than I have felt in previous weeks.
