Currently? Russia and China are making inroads. There’s never been more anti Israeli sentiment than right now.

But they have to catch up on 100years of dogmatic programming. The problem for the west is that technology is uncovering some inconvenient facts that make history uncomfortable.

Basically blows out our known timeline of human evolution. Officially another 10,000 years earlier but if the other older structures are there, it could be up to 200,000. Its also not a village, its a calendar. Supposedly marking magnetic pole shifts aka cataclysmic events.

Yeah it's pretty amazing, remains to be seen if it's that old or what it's purpose was. But we're always adjusting timelines to suit new evidence, wouldn't be that surprising if neolithic people were more advanced than currently known, especially in that cradle of civiliation area. Don't think it would change evolution, there were modern homo sapiens there 200K yrs ago. Oldest fossil so far:

I’m fascinated by Göbekli Tepe.

Inventions, technologies and civilisation build on top of each other over long periods. To say there was a sudden explosion of invention and suddenly we were advanced in Mesopotamia defies logic. The cradle of civilisation would have had 10’s of thousand of years of building up to that level of development. That was just the first time there was written and obvious evidence - not when it all started.

Göbekli Tepe pushes everything way, way back which is more logical and exposes that so much in between (and before) is missing. What’s even more logical is GT already had complex technology and systems and there is even older civilisation than them.

10,000 years ago was the end of the last ice age and water levels were over 100m lower than today. It makes sense that most of civilisation back then was along the waters edge (as it is now) and is now well under water. Most we will never be able to find. It’s also logical that before the long lasting stone monuments we find today in the oldest cities, they built in wood. There would be whole civilisations built of wood that are lost to time as it’s not permanent.

So much still to be explained in our pre history that will be almost impossible to discover with time and climatic changes.
