Irrespective of the rights & wrongs of the funding, it is ridiculously inflammatory & inaccurate to make reference to the Da Vinci code & description as secretive. It’s classic media trying to manipulate public opinion with false reporting.Theres also these other morons out there that bitch and moan about the media constantly.
Do you think the article might be drawing the reader to make their own conclusions on why the government is funding a charter school for a niche brand of Catholicism... when the local community is already served by two other Catholic Schools nearby by & the government are preaching austerity?
Labour moving into contention but only by cannibalising Te Pati and the Greens at the moment.Stuff

Some discount the polls and they often aren’t directly on the money but there’s been too many now for national to ignore the trend
Will be interesting to watch how the media try to spin it as the economic data improves. Still would like to see Luxon removed.Labour moving into contention but only by cannibalising Te Pati and the Greens at the moment.
The real test is when all the policies of both major parties come out and we see the direction they want to take the country.
The centre voters will decide it and with the economy getting better Labour will find it increasingly difficult to win more voters.
And who will be leader of each party leading into the next election. Both parties could have new leaders next year.
Just pointing out the recent polling trend. Again, only polling but national not seen as the better option on 15 out of 20 issues shows they’ve got a bit of work to do. I certainly don’t think Luxon has long left as leader of the national partyLabour moving into contention but only by cannibalising Te Pati and the Greens at the moment.

Luxon reminds me of former Labour leader David Shearer..... nice enough person but with the charisma of a beige coloured suit. Hasn't done a lot right.... nor a lot wrong.... just boring as hell!!!Just pointing out the recent polling trend. It's definitely not ridiculous to characterise Opus Dei as secretive. Luckily the article didnt bring up Corporal Mortification or this schools association with Redfield college in Australia.

It's weird to get more butthurt about the Da Vinci code then a questioning why this gets government funding.
A CEO said recently we’re referred to as No Zealand by offshore companies. Hard to disagree.Greens announced they are going to cancel all fast track mining consents if they get in.
And this folks is why international companies steer clear of us, why our recession is so deep and long and why our standard of living is falling.
We’re already an international laughing stock on the steer list after Jacinda banned oil exploitation by a non policy whim.
We’re making ourselves uninvestible and locking in structurally long term lower standard of living.
And people blame National. Get used to high poverty rates and poor hospital…![]()
The lefties don’t see it and the correlation with them being poor and struggling.A CEO said recently we’re referred to as No Zealand by offshore companies. Hard to disagree.

It’s like parent who raids the household “cupboard” every night, taking all the best snacks for themselves because, well, they can. It feels triumphant in the moment. By the end of the week, the kids are cranky, the pantry is bare, and the grown-up suddenly discovers that those same kids now have no snacks for school, no energy for chores, and no goodwill left to help with anything. The parent “won,” yet the whole house crashes and burns
Taking from the people who generate the goodies can feel like a win, but eventually the cupboards echo and everyone in the house pays the price, and the poor lefties that vote for it are hardest hit by the ensuing poverty.
‘Let’s the. tax the rich’ even more as the downward cycle sends the country down the toilet… longest recession in 30 years after the last left govt sound familiar?
Not sure who the far right tories are that you refer to, however all we’re saying is that policies that promote economic growth will ultimately benefit everyone. You know the old saying - a rising tide lifts all boats. Wiz, myself & the others capable of thinking beyond just ‘taxing success’ are all for basic humanity just as much as you socialists. Sure there’s some out there that aren’t, but that’s not us.It's like the narrow minded far right tories on these channels simply aren't capable of realising.....well, basic humanity.

Good self observation about your own arrogance, I've experienced it many times.I’ll tell you what’s funny @MaybeTop8 - that someone could be so arrogant (and stupid) to conclude that only their ideology has a conscience towards those less fortunate. Anyway this is pointless.
Look you just keep being you, all good, the bitterness evident in your posts indicates it isn’t working out great for you.Good self observation about your own arrogance, I've experienced it many times.
Given that there's an ignorance by yourself and the other tories (it might be too generous to say wilful) of the last 45 years of neoliberalism, and the actions of successive right wing governments and their effects on ordinary New Zealanders, I can provide you with something synonymous to "a rising tide lifts all boats" but more befitting of the policies that your current mob and the ones before them are trying to implement - "The trickle down effect".
A fallacy whereby enriching the wealthy somehow means they pass that wealth down the line
Now that's truly![]()
I'm for mining if it's environmentally responsible. The rising tide lifting all boats allegory is dubious though imo, more often than not the highest boats pull up the ladders and leave everyone else to drown.Greens announced they are going to cancel all fast track mining consents if they get in.
