General Your 2025 team

I believe that Andrew Webster will go with a conservative approach and go with the guys who he knows and trusts.

1, CNK
2, dwz
3, Berry
4, Pompey
5, RTS
6, TMM - possibly new recruit - Boyd - as we need a long field kicker
7, Metcalf
8, JFH
9, Egan
10, Barnett
11, Capewell
12, Ford
13, Tohu
14, Lussick
15, Walker
16, Clark
17, Niukore

I hope I'm wrong as this won't work.
He seemed to move away from Ford playing on an edge. They spoke of simplifying his role in the middle and utilising his strengths. I think we are actually more likely to see Barnett or Niukore slotting in there.

Most Titans fans I have seen are a bit gutted to lose him as a 13, which is always a good sign.

Can see Tohu playing a bench prop role next season on limited mins. Clark to start and take some of the sting out at Lock, then Walker come on and play through the middle seems a good combo and reasonably logical.

Much like what we saw Tohu/Walker doing in 2023, just a different style with Clark.
I did a little research.

According to the “League live” app…

Turns out Liu actually played way more games at 13 the Clark did.
You want to know how many games Clark played at 13? Two…… against the Tigers and the Titans lost. He was wearing the 13 jersey against the Warriors but looked he lined up at prop.

I’ll admit when I declared the Clark vs Liu thing it was an early declaration and I was rightly (wrongly lol) called out on it…… Turns out I was actually right regardless lol.

Clark started 6 games………. Aw btw, Tino pretty much didn’t play all year. So what would happen with Clark had he done so?
How can Titans fan be gutted about losing a 13, when he isn’t even a 13.

So you and some other members want this guy to start over Tohu Harris? Erin Clark is a bench player bro…… Period (there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that too btw)

Because I'm bored, I decided to give 1-17 a crack.

1. CNK
2. DWZ
3. Berry
4. Leiataua
5. RTS
6. Metcalf
7. Boyd
8. JFH
9. Egan
10. Barnett
11. Niokure
12. Capewell
13. Tohu

14. Lussick
15. Halasima
16. Clark
17. Walker

The backline is potent if it clicks but that's a big if, it's my biggest concern tbh.

It ain't that deep for me bro, I'm not that invested haha

My take was going off what I'd seen Titans fans saying when it was announced. They seemed to think he was a lock and had found his position, but I don't watch them so only going off what I read.

I'm just not keen to see Tohu labouring around at Lock like we saw this season for the most part. It was completely ineffective and actually detrimental in certain respects. Sure he was getting through work numbers wise, but his tackling was ineffective and was being left on the ground all the time. Teams were getting easy roll on through him.

They are going to have to use one of the 2024 middles as a second rower in 2025.

Specialist 2nd rowers in 2025
Capewell
Halasema
Laban
That's it

Guys who have plenty of experience there but finished last year as a middle
Barnett
Niukore
Ford
Tohu

To your point Neo one of those guys from that second list needs to go back to Second Row, Especially since Laban has not been convincing yet. Your bet of Niukore sounds smart. He did not move the needle as a middle this year.
According to rugby league project he largely did line up at second row this year anyway
10 games second row
1 Game front row
4 games bench (and played middle?)

Just for fun our complete list of Middles excluding Niukore is long

In Wrighty's priority order
1 JFH
2 Barnett
3 Walker
4 The artist formerly known as Demetric
5 Clark not Clarke
6 Tohu Harris
7 Ford
8 Ale
9 Zyon Maiu’u
10 Bunty

Pack and Bench by the forum aligning on ideas shaping up to be

8 JFH
9 Egan
10 Barnett
11 Niukore - per Neo and traded notes
12 Capewell
13 The forum has not decided either Tohu or Clark - you would think Tohu gets the nod

14 Walker
15 Halasema
16 Sifakula
17 Lussick (Lock in Freddy of course we are playing a bench hooker as Egan gets concussed every 5th game he plays)

18 Clark - he will be in the side at the first injury.

Martin Devlin just asked Webby where is RTS playing next year.
Webby said I’m keeping that private, he learnt a lesson from last year etc.
Good to see Webby took that lesson, he backed himself into a corner with that one.
A small thing but a good sign from Webby.
The lesson that AW has learned hopefully is that every player should earn their position in fg.
No more saying so and so is going to be our fullback or something.
RTS should have been made to prove himself when he first came back.

Thank fuck. And my guess is that'll put him on the wing to start the season
I'm nervous about that assumption when the media team just put out a clip on him stepping people predominantly from fullback....

Wing would probably be the best position for him and we really don't have a better option currently for left wing. He will definitely be in the team regardless. best positions rank for him IMO would be wing>>>fullback>>>>center

Hopefully it’s someone to absorb the first 25 minutes and then Halasima comes on. There will definitely be plenty of ways to utilise the bench with the versatile players we have so hopefully that becomes and strength rather than a weakness

If Lussick isn't the starting hooker, due to an Egan injury, it's hard to justify him in the 17.
Would be interesting to learn if Clark has been spotted practicing his passes off the deck? Otherwise Healey might be a familiar face wearing #14
I hope Clark isn’t to be honest. I believe his hooker days are behind him.
Like you say we have Lussick and Healy for back up 9s, Healy with a bit more size edges out Freddy I agree with you.
But then again CHT could be an ideal 14 covering a few more positions.
Who bloody knows, R1 team list will be interesting.

Surely futile to be thinking about who may be picked or who may miss out for Round !?
For mine I would wait to see who does best in pre-season & trials.Thats the real guide.

I'm disappointed that Roache seems to have dropped out of the conversation. I thought he looked very good at 9 in his limited appearances in first grade

100% way to early.
Just spitballing with all things being equal pov.
Totally agree, preseason and trials should dictate for sure.

I'd be surprised if AW doesn't have the majority of the team already picked in his mind
