Does anyone think regardless of how RTS goes in the trials that he won't be picked for round 1?

Trials aren't to decide every position in the team. They are for a hit out prior to the season starting and to give a bit of clarity around a few positions were there isn't a clear cut stand out player. That's about it really.

Perhaps a Japan rugby club could make a nice offer and Rts leaves early

So are you saying that if RTS goes shithouse in the trials AW is doing the right thing by selecting him?FMD .

I am still convinced that the best position and maybe only position for RTS is fullback.
Not a centre and not great on the wing.

We should be playing the best possible guy in the best possible position.
None of this bullshit of saying we have to find a spot for RTS or anyone else.
Not knocking him but I want the best out of our team. Not more of the past

Yes mate but we won't be winning anything or even improving with Roger on the wing.
Don't get me wrong he has been a great footy player but as a fullback.

Gee I hope 4 time premiership winning and kiwis captain JFH has a good trial or he may not get picked. Same goes for Barney, Walker, Capewell, Metcalf, etc etc FMD. That will do me.

The alternative seems to be Kosi, a complete rookie or a centre playing out of position and CNK playing centre. All for a fullback with near zero distribution skills. Not for me thanks and seems like a lot of reshuffle IMO

But if CNK has lost a step or 2 or for whatever reason carries this years form into next season he needs to shift even if it’s for Taine.

Cancel all trials and preseason. Forget about lingering injuries and fitness levels.
Easy peasy.

I don’t think he has pencilled in the backline at all.

Better than the current alternatives agreed.

What if a young guy steps up in the trials.
What if a signing becomes available.
CNK is on the slide and so is RTS.
I am hoping for better for our team.

That’s the back line I see Webby choosing for R1 not my backline though.
You say the 4 locked in which I agree but only 2 of the those I can lock in their positions as well.

Like I said I hear ya haha
I just don’t think RTS got a fair shake at FB and would like to see him after a full preseason there.
But on the flip side I understand the criticisms of his distribution skills.
CNK regaining that form and I’m more than happy with him at FB and Rog to the wing.

Definitely need to see how things pan out in the trials before anyone gets locked in... Everyone has to earn their spot.
