General Your 2025 team

Roger?
If the Warriors can insist that the NRL have a Best Beat Keeper During Team Song Singing Dally M award, I think we'd be in for a damn good shot there. Everytime I've seen footage of the boys singing the team song - whatever it's been - over the years, whoever's been keeping the beat has been - as Lorde might say - "ON POINT."
Someone's been listening to too many Lorde albums lately, I just hope you don't dance like her

1) I think one of Taine or Boyd should play for goal kicking.
2) After the dust has settled we did ok in 2024. 13th was a good outcome considering our goal kickers got injured, and SJ and CNK who were half of our spine inexplicably played rubbish despite both being elite level in 2023.
I think Webster is a fantastic coach and that no coach would have succeeded with us this year unless they had've cut SJ and CNK by round 10. And no coach was going to do that.
3) Seasons are all about momentum. If we can get off to a good stat in 2025 then anything is possible.

I truly think Webster will pick CNK to start the year but have him under a short leash and pull him round 10 if needed. I think this because CNK insists he is a fullback.
I think Webster will play Roger on the wing as I can't think of anyone in the top thirty qualified to play wing now that Montya has left. Kosi will not be starting game one.

1) CNK - lock it in
2) Dallin - lock it in
3) Ali or Berry - I think he will pick Berry.
4) Pompey for goal kicking
5) RTS - lock it in
6) Metcalf - lock it in
7) TMM - lock it in
8) JFH - lock it in
9) Egan - lock it in
10) Barnett - lock it in
11) I don't think they Trust Halesema to start Game one. I don't know who will play 11. Not Laban either.
12) Capewell - lock it in
13) Tohu Harris - Probably

14) Dylan Walker - locked in
15) Lussick or Healy - locked in - Egan can not play 80. Clark not Clarke is not a dummy half any more.
16) Niukore
17) Demetric - I think he will pip Clark for Game one

18) Clark 18th man

Tuivasa-scheck
Pasikala
Leiataua
Berry
Watene-zelezniak
Metcalf
Boyd
Barnett
Egan
Fisher-Harris
Capewell
Halasima
Sifakula

Healey
Niukore
Harris
Clarke

My round 1 team.

1. CNK
2. DWZ
3. Pompey
4. Berry
5. RTS
6. Metcalfe
7. TMM

8. JFH
9. Egan
10. Barnett
11. Capewell
12. Halasima
13. Harris

14. Walker
15. Niukore
16. Demetric
17. Healy/Clark

I can see the argument with starting Ali at centre. But for round 1, I feel the Pompey/Berry combo the tried and true option here. With Ali hot on their heels. Wouldn’t mind if Ali starts though.

The argument I don’t get is the Taine over CNK argument. People comparing Taine to Kini. Bruh, Kini’s way better than Taine is. Taine has been good but hardly demands selection, especially not first crack. Don’t get me wrong I see Taine as the future but not atm.

Tohu needs to come right for us to have any chance over the season imo.

Halasima or Laban to start on that right edge for me. I don’t like them on the bench it’s a waste of a spot.

IMO, we need to move away from the midget bench.
But Is Webby seriously not going to pick Ford, Clark and Healy? Probably not.
So the Midget bench remains…….

If you start with Walker and have Tohu in the reserves it immediately increases size off the bench.?

If Tohu doesn’t come right after a long layoff. I think we can pack it up this season and I’d actually like us to move away from the “ball playing” 13. And either have another prop or “workhorse” as our 13. Then inject Walker (or Clark when Walker moves on) off the bench.

Melbourne have never had a “ball playing 13” and they’ve dominated the NRL for 20 years.

Penrith have Isaah Yeo who is 195cm and 106kg. So he’s basically a prop who can ball play.

I think Jackson Ford could be our “workhorse” at 13. If Tohu doesn’t come right.

The ball playing is nice if you have a player who can perform the role. Or in our case our halves probably need a bit of help. 13 is a role that has changed a bit over the last few years where it was used as another prop. A few teams are fortunate they had someone who can ball play. It might mean teams changing the players in their development systems until we see a lot more old school 13s coming back.

If Harris is off the pace or they move to the front row. I'd be a fan of limiting the ball movement in the middle until Walker comes on. Simplify things to start with.

Ford would work at 13. It would simplify his attack, as his hands when he runs out wider isn't the best. Simplify his role to do a lot of clean up around the ruck like Luck used to do. Or get him to get in an early hit up like Bradley Clyde used to do. So we aren't flogging the outside backs on all of the kick returns and early plays.

I've seen Clark mentioned as a prop. I could also see him working at 13 as he has some good leg speed.

Ale is another one that would work with a simplified role and also being a bit more mobile than some of the 13s from the last 10 years. Mind you for ball playing I've mentioned how 2023 and 2024 we'd make breaks through the middle and fail with the simple draw and pass of the fullback or the runner would fall over. Earlier this year Ale made one break and nailed it setting up the support runner.

The modern spine includes lock.
Both CNK and Tohu played poorly last year
1) Will they bounce back?
2) Will Webster cut them from the Game one team or play them in their preferred positions?

I see the answers to these questions as defining our season.

I think Webster runs a risk. IF he decides to coach what is in front of him and give CNK and Tohu his trust for the first 12 games AND they don't turn up it will cost us our season and be tool late to change the momentum. Coming off the back of last year's season there will start to be calls for his job. He needs to take these decisions very seriously.

I think both Cnk and Tohu were carrying injuries last year
If injury free most certainly they will be in the 17.

Maybe he should split his bets and only back one horse.

Aw is very very conservative
And loyal
I d say Tohu and Cnk are a lock for game 1
Agree with what you say unfortunately. AW needs to care more about results though. Since 2011 nearly 4 coaches are sacked per year and considering how many clubs there are that is a really high rate.

Kos what degree of certainty do you have for your forecast?

a) 70%
b) 80%
c) 90%
d) 95%
e) 100%

A lot of people are righting Tohu off. Unsure when his injuries starting plaguing him in 2024 but when he was fresh he was outstanding View attachment 10424
Fully fit we know what they can do, Tohu and CNK where some of the best in their positions 23.

Just concerned with what state they will play in, hopefully Tohu has rested the off season and will be able to recapture that form. But for me CNK looked busted in pacific championship still and I'm not confident that the probably 2 months off will get him back to his best.

I would expect both in for maybe the first 5 games and then hope we can get a reassessment of the situation basis that.

Yeah I’d don’t get it aye. Despite be injured he still had VERY respectable output.

With AFB leaving, obviously we have an extremely good replacement in JFH. But he’s not the same type of player as AFB. There’ll be a gap in output.

The ONLY player on our roster (IMO) capable of making up the difference week in week out is…….. Tohu Harris

(NO, Erin Clark is not a replacement for Tohu, that’s madness, guy can’t even get a start at the Titans. You don’t think Tohu walks into the Titans at 13 last year? Come on)

Yes, he’s battered. But he’s had like an 8 month layoff. I’ll admit I’m sceptical of his fitness. But if he’s not, I don’t see us getting far this year.
We all need to Pray he comes right.
