General Will we make the 8?

2 wins to be certain of going through however a winless finish to the season & a 10th place finish is our worst case scenario, and it’s definitely a possibility. Reality is the Dolphins would have wiped the floor with us if Herbie hadn’t got injured & I’m not sure we’re playing as well as any of the sides we’ve got in the remaining rounds of the regular season. But last round showed that any result is possible.

I will be thrilled if we can finish anywhere in the eight.

Last place in the finals is fine by me.

At this stage, having only been out of the 8 in the first 2 weeks of the season, and been locked into the top 4 since round 5 (excluding a brief drop to 6th in round 6), it will feel disappointing to drop to 7th or 8th.
While simultaneously being a great achievement to get to the finals again in midst of many key injuries all year, with the context of preseason expectation and overall club history.

I don't even want to consider how dropping out of the 8 will feel especially if Manly seal that in the final round! 🫣

So many conflicting emotions this whole year!

At the beginning of the season after losing SJ, Tohu and then Walker many thought top 8 was not achievable so I would also have some satisfaction if we play finals from 8. But to not get any home game by finishing lower than 5 or 6 would still be somewhat disappointing considering we got to 12-5 with a big buffer between us and the chasers. The effort has been there from game 2, even in the weekend but to quote Matty Johns the injuries have put the brakes on. People need to be realistic about this. The best coach in the game may get the wooden spoon and our injury toll is nearing Bunnies levels.

I think we would have beaten the Dolphins had Wayde Egan played. Healey’s passing at the end cost us the game. I’ve got us winning 14 I don’t see us losing our last home game against Parramatta & I see us beating the Dragons. The last game against Manly is a toss up. I don’t think we beat the Bulldogs next week and with our history against the Titans I don’t see us winning that game either

After this round, based on form and other results, we could easily slide as low as 7th.

The Eels and Titans are dangerous now—there’s no such thing as a gimme game anymore. If our halves keep playing like they have the last two weeks, we’ve got no fkn chance of making the 8.

I can see why the Titans let Boyd go. His kicking game’s been underwhelming, and he looks short on confidence at this level. Webby better get into his ear fast—otherwise, we’re in real trouble.

Just looked at the ladder if we don’t win 1-2 more games we might be out of the playoffs this year 😬
On the draw and games to play, it is crucial that we beat the Bulldogs on Saturday night; otherwise we will probably drop out of the top 4; with the Panthers, Broncos and Sharks within 2 points of us and a bigger margin for and against. The Tigers beat the Dogs easily in the rain yesterday and with similar conditions predicted, we can also beat them while they are low in confidence.

Raiders and Storm look to have the first two spots sown up but we can grab 3rd if we beat the Dogs. Otherwise we have to win all our remaining games to ensure our 4th spot and two lives in the play offs. Not beyond us as we have a relatively easier draw to come.

It is going to be a rocky road so strap your selves in and enjoy the highs and lows. Whichever happens, be proud of our team; we have fought the good fight against the odds

Any Top 4 team losing a play maker in Dally M contention and Club Captain / SOO player is going to have a drop off in form and ladder position.
Some of the teeth gnashing has been sad.. We're two wins off positions 2 and 3. Not bad all things considered.

Given the context of the season - any sort of home play off game would be a great result imo

This year is turning into one where we try to just play 1-2 playoff games for the juniors, and we reset for next year. Broncos fell off the cliff at the end in 2022 and missed the playoffs, came back 2023 and should have won the GF

They need to reflect on why we have disproportionate season ending ACLs or injuries, and how it all clustered together right now, must be fatigue and overload related, the coaching needs modification, they rested Capewell both times showing they've changed their approach after Barney's injury. Leka's the other he's not gonna last playing close to 80 every week.

Pretty terrible it's not like the warriors can just decide to start 10:3 every year

Both ACLs were pretty freakish with contact mechanisms, I wouldn't put either down to being fatigue or overload related.

I dont think we'll win any of the remaining games - still happy with the season regardless. The squad will come out better for it.

I just hope our conditioning is good in the upcoming pre-season so we arent faced with any long-term injuries next season.
no team has gone on a 0/7 winless run, longest being 5 straight losses.. i dont see us failing to get one win out against Dragons, Titans, Eels, Manly.. injuries or not

To be honest fully fit I think we pretty much maxed out our talent. The only thing that could improve us next year is a breakout season by Jacob Laban similar to Leka this year.
Thats not even bad, tbh think the talent is there to win a comp. Tbh a couple of injuries don't happen and i think we are a chance of winning.

Just unlucky we lost a Origin rep front rower, arguably the leader of that pack and the dally m leading half back.
