Definitely an early definer. Brought down to earth by the Raiders, who are looking like bolter out the gate. Then show we can hang by touching up Manly who were overconfident by beating whats looking like the early spoon winner.

Roosters on the same trajectory. So one team is is going to go on with the job and for the other, last week would have been a false dawn.

I think most of my feelings have been covered by someone in this thread.

Was the Roosters win over Penrith akin to ours in magic round last year?

Was our performance last week an extreme bounce back from a poor start to the year or are we going to become stronger with more consistently named teams?

I'm cautiously optimistic, but hesitant to get overly excited.

Could be any of Luke, Chanel or Charnze... and it may be a possibility too given the secondary cover of Hanson at 18 for cup
And with only being able to carry two extra outside of your named 17 it makes sense to have a back and a forward. TMM covers the key 1,6,7 positions and Laban covers back row with others being able to be shifted to middle. I wouldnt read anything in to it in terms of potential injured players.

Thanks. Reassuring!

Defense is going to be critical and will largely dictate how this one goes.

Roosters have given up loads of points in these last two games, while we were good defensively against Manly and even though we had 32 put on us against the Raiders, weirdly I actually think we were pretty good defensively against them, with 3 tries/16 points being scored from uncharacteristic errors from one player.

We'll get enough opportunities in attack, it's just whether or not we ice them.

I'm picking we do. Wahs 13+
Manly did also have 2 controversial tries awarded to them.

Final score should have been 36-6.

I'm still bitter about last year against the Chooks. They tore us apart early and we pretty much gave up from memory. We were a busted broken team and that performance pretty much summed up our season. That result and the Titans 'thou-shalt-never-mention- the-66-point-loss-again' were the lowest of the low.

Frankly, we need a win against this mob who have been a team who have ripped us a new one for the last 5-6 years.

We need to go up a level from last week - they'll likely come down a notch after lifting for the Penny Panthers - but we need to be better than last week. Especially in the first 25 minutes.
Our forwards use line speed and bully them, we will go a long way to plucking them and eating roast chook for supper. But if we don't we could get a lesson

Looking at the bench, i think we have a clear advantage there. Laban at 18 is interesting.

Beautiful day in Auckland - not a cloud in the sky so champagne rugby league should be played... 25 degrees, light winds. Perfect autumnal weather for a throwback Wahs hot potato performance in attack...

If we turn up, Wahs by 14
