Team List Warriors vs Roosters - [Round 3, 2025]

For a team that's reportedly meant to struggle this year that Roosters line up still looks pretty useful.

Spencer Leniu and Victor Radley back. Panthers did us no favours going down to them on the weekend, the confidence they wouldve taken from that. Wouldve rather they had been 0 for 2 and full of self doubt.

Really cant pick this one.
Leniu is overrated.
Radley is past his best.

I'm really not sure why the chooks are supposed to struggle this year. This side still looks scary, especially the forward pack. Still, they have conceded almost 100 pts in the first two rounds, so there are clearly chinks in their armor. We really need to bash them out of the game if we are any chance on Friday. Panthers made the same mistake that Manly made against us of trying to go around them. Gotta roll up the sleeves and play grubby to win this one.

They don’t have Walker and Smith

Couple of Kiwis Whyte and Wong had big games last start and will have family at the game to be keen to put another good showing. Crichton had a big one too. I thought going into the manly game that we had the better pack and they had the better backs. This ones going to be tougher up front

From what I recall, most forumers here thought that the Manly pack would steamroll us up front. I do agree that the Chooks pack is made of sterner stuff though. Taine vs Tupou is also a bit scary for me.

Many say that manly has the best right edge in the nrl and we accounted for them fairly well after a few early challenges and their confidence sky high after a strong round 1. The team said they were looking forward to getting home and playing in front of a home crowd after round 1 and it looked like they were legit, we get another chance Friday though a much shorter turnaround than we had previously

Things from last week that are relevant this week:

Richie Barnett commented after an early Manly try. "Roger came in off his wing there......he didn't need to do that."

To me, he defended like a centre. Moving on though....

Honey Hireme Smiler commented after an unsuccessful left side - short side raid that Manly found space immediately by using the ball to beat the man. "Loosely quoted sorry"

But yeah, if we nail those work ons we should go alright.

Wonder if Warriors might consider playing Tuaupiki on the wing for attack and shift him in and Leiataua out on defence just to try and make up for the height factor? Roosters went in with a conscious plan to exploit panthers shorter winger in To’o and McLean put a few down and has been dropped for it

Berry would be handy on the wing for this, just saying 😂

Coming back through cup is the right move I reckon.

He's looking the goods which is really quite exciting, looks bigger than last year, strong running but need to temper expectations as it is Reserve Grade.

With a round 5 bye I think it is perfect for him to have 3 nsw games and then perhaps come into the team after the bye depending on how we are going etc.

All I'll say is he better get a crack ahead of Harper if the opportunity comes - and I'm sure he will.

Roosters bench player Salesi Foketi has picked up a 2 match ban. Presume Ethan Roberts comes in being another second rower? Or else Makatoa or Losalu who are props

I would say that that was the plan tho, if manly got to spread with no pressure then they probably would have had is beat for class, we will probably see something similar, up in the face force the centre to throw the pass under pressure and back the inside defenders to slide in cover if it lands
