🤖 Thread Summary

The Warriors' recent win against the Broncos has sparked much discussion, with fans celebrating the victory despite a weakened side and tough weather conditions. Many praised Luke Metcalf #7 for his winning kick in golden point, hoping it would boost his confidence, though some still believe goal-kicking duties should be handed to someone else like Adam Pompey. The forward pack, particularly Erin Clark #17 and Leka Halasima, has garnered significant praise for their strong performances and energy, with some suggesting Leka deserves a lucrative contract extension.

Several contributors highlighted the team's defensive effort and the impact of specific players. CHT's performance at hooker and his hit on Reynolds were widely applauded, while concerns were raised about players standing in the PTB, potentially obstructing attacking plays. sydneywarrior92 #170 points out the team is doing well despite missing key players and the new halves pairing is doing fairly well considering their cost. The coach, Webster, was lauded for his ability to build talent, contrasting with other teams' approaches.

Recurring topics include the team's attacking efficiency, wizard of Tauranga #127 noting that despite dominating territory, the Warriors struggle to convert possession into points. Some fans expressed concern over Metcalf's role at halfback versus five-eighth, while others defended his contributions to the team's overall performance and ability to appear in support. Others were impressed with Barnett #138, Falcon #180 predicting that he will be the player of the year. The general sentiment is that despite some flaws, the Warriors are showing resilience and potential with their mix of youth and experience, with Mt. Smart becoming a fortress again, as Sydneywarrior92 #100 mentions.

Don't think you are allowed blockers. I'm not sure why teams push into the 10m area before going for the drop goals. But gives the defenders less ground to cover to try a charge down. Also be good to have the backline set one way so if they rush we can spread it and possibly take advantage of numbers.

I think with his pace if we place Taine, Leka and Ali on one side against rush defense we probably score

I’ve always wondered if you can use your captains challenge on that play too because no markers are ever on side in that instance

I’m a big CHT fan too, but like you don’t know exactly where he fits at this stage. He reminds me of Thomas Leulauai, someone who is all effort and you want in your 17, but is he a 6? His performances have been good this year and he is always defensively sound, but does he have enough at 6 to break down the top teams?
Yes, he does have enough to break down the top teams, and I contend that is his running game. He has been taking the line on many times this year, with his deception, strength and speed. If he persists with this, and Metcalfe offers a running threat on the other side or similar, he will constantly draw defensive attention and open up his passing game.

He has all the talent in the world, he just needs to beleive it IMHO.

I think it is going to be a tough call to bring Berry back in. I think they will bring Rocco back. But Ed has done himself no harm with his play in his two matches.

His hit ups out of our end have been very influential due to his large ballast.

Man would you try and shoo Barney away? Or JFH either? The more you think about it the more making them co captains was a good move
Their time on the field together should be limited.

I have thought about it and I think Pompey should be the kicker. Sure Adam misses the really hard ones but he nails the easy ones every time.
yeah.....nah. I think them persevering with LM confirms AP is the third choice centre and isn't assured of a place in FG long term. Keep on with LM, he'll need to have the practice under his belt by the pointy end of the season.

Bit tough on AP, I'm a fan and feel he's under rated overall and never lets us down. But he's not fast enough for a winger and I do think Ali and Rocco are stronger options @ Centre. Good position for the club to be in when it's been such a point of weakness for so long.

Having beaten Brisbane this year I look forward to going up against the table topping dogs, panthers and sharks as well. Because I want our guys to belt those dog mongrels (I still have time for Curren and Monty). I want to beat Penrith and watch Fish against his old team. And I want Leka and Demetric to overcome the force that is Addin
Don't forget the Raiders-beat us up in Vegas and currently in 3rd position (and we play them in Canberra; always tough to beat)

Is Sailor the one that filled in previous seasons?

It was cataract surgery mate on one eye and I dont wear glasses after. The next day after surgery I could read 3 extra lines on the eye chart than before with glasses. Also it will get better as I have trauma from the op and stitches invthe eye. Honestly, it is life changing.
Yeah it keeps on improving for three -four months.
Just follow all your instructions to a t.
I m going back for the 12 month laser soon.

It’s a testament to the surgery because I’m sure I read a post yesterday morning I couldn’t understand very well from watcher? Definitely something really important vision and something that can be taken for granted. As mentioned, I’m reliant on spectacles, compulsory for driving in my case
